Cypress School District’s Teacher of the Year Honored at Countywide Celebration

Jennie Lee, kindergarten teacher at Frank Vessels Elementary School, was honored at the Orange County Teacher of the Year Recognition Dinner on November 7, 2025, at the Disneyland Hotel. The annual event celebrates outstanding educators from across the county who exemplify excellence in teaching and a deep commitment to students.

A devoted educator in the Cypress School District for 24 years, Jennie has spent most of her career teaching kindergarten, where her enthusiasm for early learning shines. She is passionate about helping young students develop strong foundational skills in reading and math and believes that positive relationships with students and families are essential to student success.

Jennie is also known for her collaborative spirit, working closely with her grade-level colleagues to create consistent and enriching experiences for all students. Over the years, she has shared her expertise beyond the classroom through her participation on various school and district committees in support of students and staff.

“Jennie represents the heart of what makes Cypress School District such a special place to learn and grow,” said Superintendent Anne Silavs. “Her dedication, warmth, and commitment to student learning inspire everyone around her.”

The district extends its warmest congratulations to Jennie Lee and appreciates her ongoing dedication to the students and staff of Cypress School District.
