Tracy Mouren-Laurens Named
Human Resources Administrator of the Year by
Association of California School Administrators, Region 17
 
Cypress Sch ool District is pleased to announce that Tracy Mouren-Laurens has been named Human Resources Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), Region 17.
  
Mrs. Mouren-Laurens has over 1 8 years of experience in the field of education. She began her career in the Cypress School District in 1999, serving students at Juliet Morris Elementary School, where she taught both primary and upper grade levels. As a result of her effectiveness in meeting student needs, Mrs. Mouren-Laurens was later appointed as Teacher-on-Special Assignment where she provided support for her colleagues working with English learners and special education students across the district. In 2005, she was named Cypress School District Teacher of the Year.
  
Based upon her track record of success, Mrs. Mouren-Laurens was promoted to administration in 2006 and assigned as principal at Margaret Landell Elementary School. In 2010, she became the district's Administrative Director of Human Resources and Induction, a role in which she continues to demonstrate her ongoing support of students and staff today. She has instituted best practices in recruiting, hiring, and retaining exceptional employees. Mrs. Mouren-Laurens ensures the right people are in the right place to maximize student learning. Through these efforts, she has made a lasting impact on the lives of children in the Cypress School District.
  
Superintendent Anne Silavs commented, "Tracy is a dedicated and highly effective Human Resources administrator. She effectively builds relationships and gets people working together to do what's best for kids."
  
Cypress School District Board Member Candice Kern stated, "I think all who know Tracy would concur that everything she does is in the best interest of the people she serves. She is exceedingly compassionate and concerned about all staff while continuing to be mindful of student needs and what is necessary to support them. She consistently exudes a positive attitude and is approachable and welcoming to all."

Mrs. Mouren-Laurens will be honored at the ACSA Region 17 Administrator of the Year and Friends of Education Celebration of Excellence dinner on May 8, 2017 at the Irvine Marriott.
