A LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Saint Augustine Catholic School Families,

Happy blessed All Saints’ Day!  Our team is offsite spending a day in prayer, reflection, and team building as we participate in our annual retreat.  We are lifting all of our students and their families up in prayer during this time.  Please know that you can always count on this team as prayer warriors as we know that there is power in prayer and we are called to lift each other up.

This week has truly been a celebration as we culminate with our Race for Education Color Run and afternoon festival.  We are so grateful to our school families and community who have partnered with us to raise these important funds that benefit our teachers, students, and classroom wish lists while also most importantly helping us to keep our tuition costs down.  I thank you in advance for your support and look forward to running alongside all of you with our 2nd Annual Angels on the Run 5K on November 11th.

Finally, as mentioned in our Strategic Plan 2028, I am looking to establish an Advancement Council which will be made up of parents, school board members, and HSA members.  This council will help to identify long term needs of the school and campus for facility upgrades, intentional grant writing, and other long term planning. If you are interested in joining this council, please email me directly.

Have a wonderful and blessed November and know that we are so grateful for each and every one of you.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” - 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

In Christ,

  Mr. Joseph Miller

BREAKFAST & SNACK TIME

Did you know that many kids in grades Prek-8th report that they do not eat breakfast before school? We frequently have students visit the nurse to complain of hunger related symptoms such as headaches and stomachaches. Research shows that children who eat breakfast can concentrate better and are ready to participate in school compared to those who skip breakfast.

RACE FOR ED UPDATE!

The Race for Education is our largest fundraiser of the year...and wouldn't be possible without help from our amazing families!

This year's Race will be held Friday, November 3rd. The Color Run is from 9am to 12pm, and the festival from 1pm until dismissal at 3pm.  If we hit our fundraising goal, the festivities will conclude with Mr. Miller taking a trip in our dunk tank!

For the run, volunteers will be stationed around the track, encouranging our runners with cheers and sprays of coloured water.

The festival portion will need a few parents to help make sure the students smoothly move through each station: Photo Booth, Games/Playground, Kona Ice, and a DJ Dance Party. If you have questions about what your duties at each station are, please feel free to reach out!

All volunteers must have completed VIRTUS training.

Thank you in advance!

2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 school year.

It's hard to believe we are already planning for the 2024-2025 school year, but the time is here. Below is a brief survey link we are asking each family to complete. We would appreciate you completing the survey as soon as possible as this will help us with enrollment planning.

We are excited to host our first open house on Friday, November 10th. If you have any friends who are looking to join our school, please #ShareTheGood. If you have any questions, or know someone who would like to schedule a tour please contact Jennifer Ross at JRoss@staug-md.org
