Time to Rethink the Way You Lead?

The worst leaders are remembered for what they did to their people, and the best for what they did for their people -- it's as simple (and tricky) as that.

Tricky because as a leader, it's easy to only focus on tending to the business and to your career -- while forgetting that tending to your people first is what will take care of both.

Inc.com lists the five most powerful things you can do that will make you be remembered as a boss who made a positive difference for his/her people.

Face-Time For Your Health

When someone sets out to improve their health, they usually take a familiar path: a healthy diet, new workout routine, better sleep, drinking more water. While each of these behaviors is a positive thing, they all focus on physical health -- but a growing body of research suggests that social health is just as (if not more) important for good health.

This article from Time.com highlights various findings that show why spending face-to-face quality time with friends is so essential for a person's overall happiness and well-being.

Meet The Joseph Groh Foundation ...
On Father’s Day 2008, following a day spent with family, HVAC industry veteran Joe Groh went for a bike ride along the trails of Lake Grapevine, Texas. The trail he was riding on took a sharp left turn, where Joe’s mountain bike slid on sand and off the trail. Joe was thrown headfirst over the handlebars, breaking his neck and damaging his spinal cord, resulting in quadriplegia below that level.

Knowing that life had suddenly and unalterably changed -- Joe vowed to never look back, to never give up, and to remain positive.
The Joseph Groh Foundation was established -- as Joe's way of giving back to the construction trades industry. It serves as a clearinghouse of information for those with spinal cord injuries, encourages companies to provide short and long-term disability insurance, and financially assists those with a connection to the construction trades industry who are living with a life-altering injury or illness.
