Zoning in Progress decision
will get full Council review
At a recent meeting, the Village Council delayed a decision about the establishment of a "Zoning in Progress," which would potentially affect the bulk and mass of single family home construction. Three Council members were present and decided the full Council of five should hold a discussion. However, the three authorized staff to create an Ad Hoc committee of residents and professionals to research and advise the Council in the future.
The Florida Dept. of Agriculture says there's a mite that's damaging lychee trees in Palm Beach County. The lychee is a subtropical fruit tree that produces bright pink–red fruits with a sweet flavor. If you have a lychee, please see this alert and notify FDACS if your tree is affected.
Planning Commission denies Old Port Cove request to add non-marina office space
At their July meeting, the Village Planning Commission denied a request to add outdoor seating and a yacht brokerage office to the Old Port Cove Marina, and postponed a discussion on the Prosperity Village project until their August meeting to further evaluate the proposed project.

The next Environmental Committee Clean-up day at Anchorage Park is set for Saturday, July 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers are needed. Grabber and trash bags will be provided. gloves recommended. Paddleboarders and kayakers can join the Trash Fishing Derby competition (just for fun)!

Palm Beach Crew will be starting its 2021 fall season and is accepting new rowers at Anchorage Park, August 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. Ages 12-18. No experience necessary. Rowing is a non-contact, non-impact lifetime sport, and boys and girls are welcome!
