NEXT DROP-IN DISCUSSION: Sunday, June 30: Anarchism Lite. Political scientist James C. Scott, in his book Two Cheers for Anarchism, says contemporary U.S. society needs more scope for individual freedom and voluntary cooperation. He advocates "anarchist calisthentics" to break the habit of blinding obeying pointless laws and rules. Phil Ebersole will facilitate a discussion.
NURSERY CARE for babies and younger children is provided throughout the service on the second floor. We also have seating in our second floor foyer, where parents can hold their little ones and listen to the service via speaker.
SOCIAL JUSTICE PLATE OFFERING is today. Money collected will benefit Interfaith Impact of New York State, an organization that works for the common good through progressive religious advocacy with the State Legislature, Executive Chamber and State Agencies. It is a charitable organization made up of congregations,clergy and individuals from progressive Protestant,Reform Jewish, UUs and other faith traditions. Its mission is to inform and encourage progressive faith based participation in public dialogue.
CHURCH PICNIC: TODAY, Ellison Park (Sycamore Shelter), after the service. Plan to eat about 1 pm. Bring a dish to pass, meat (if desired), drinks, and lawn games. OUR FISCAL YEAR comes to a close on June 30! Now is the time to be sure your 2012-13 pledge has been paid in full. Since we base our budget largely on anticipated pledge income, receiving those pledges is critical to a successful end to the fiscal year. Pledge statements were mailed out in early June. If you have a question about what you may owe on your pledge, please contact collector Bill Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org In addition, any requests for reimbursements or payments connected to the 2012-13 fiscal year should be given to treasurer Lauretta Young as soon as possible. COFFEE SPILL RUINS BOOK: Last Sunday one of our church bookstore / library books was ruined when somebody with a full coffee cup was accidentally bumped by somebody else. The Library Committee appeals to bookstore / library patrons to keep their beverages and refreshments away from the book displays. We have a stand on which you can park your coffee while you browse.

LOST AND FOUND: Any and all unclaimed items will be donated on June 30. Please take a look in the lost and found box, as well as in the Volunteer Office.

THE LIBRARY AND BOOKSTORE will be open on June 30, the first Sunday of summer services, to give you an extra Sunday to return library books and stock up on summer reading. We plan to be closed for the rest of the summer and reopen Sept. 8.
SANCTUARY RENOVATIONS: You may be wondering why the service is being held in the church lounge. We are in the midst of renovating our Sanctuary & look forward to resuming Sunday services there by the end of June.
