e-Skinny September 14, 2018

These are four of the smallest professionally done sun-catchers. They are basically how they came out of the original window, cleaned and re-leaded.
Placed in a window, the iridescent colors are fantastic.  Check out the bigger pieces displayed in the church Narthex this Sunday as a preview of the silent auction coming in October.

Stained Glass Information and Workshops
Things are progressing and items will be ready for October.  I have received many inquires and a lot of encouragement about the project, but I realize people need more information.  I plan on sharing some more about this project in church Sunday and will have a few professional and church-talent made pieces to preview.
There is an account for anyone wishing to contribute to this project as a designated memorial or support of the project. Thank you to those that have already contributed.  The account could use a boost since bills supporting the project are coming due. This is a mighty project as you probably realize and that's a lot of jewelry and panels to make that $4000 restoration estimate.
We plan on having a silent auction throughout the first 3 weeks of October for the small to medium sized restored panels as well as the sale of jewelry, small ornaments and sun-catchers. We hope you can take home a bit of St. John history as we try to cover the cost of the Ascension Window restoration. Silent auction results will be available after the late service, October 21st and posted on the 28th.
The Auction will end on the 21st and the sale of the church made items will continue until gone, but this is the only time to get these items. It will continue only if we fall short of the $4000 goal.
If you have an interest in making stained glass items or if you have expertise in stained glass art to share, we will meet:
Monday, September 17,  6 p.m.  Choir Room Office
Monday, September 24, 6 p.m.  Choir Room Office
Monday, October 1, 6 p.m. Choir Room Office
Other sessions to follow.  Come at these times or contact Janet Petefish at petefishj@mchsi.com
