Operation Christmas Child

Boxes will be available in the Narthex October 20th to 27th.  You may designate your box for a boy or girl for one of the following age groups: 2-4 years, 5-10 years or 10-14 years.
Fill the box with gifts, fun toys, school supplies--a list of gift suggestions is available at:   samaritanspurse.org/occ     A recommended donation of $9 is to be placed in the designated envelope inside the box to cover shipping.
Return to St John by Sunday, Nov 17, as that week our volunteers will be taking the boxes to our regional drop off.  Please remember there are custom regulations prohibiting candy, chocolate, food, or toothpaste.  Other items not allowed are:  liquids, lotions, toy guns, knives, military figures, medications, vitamins, aerosols, glass, or used or damaged items.
"The Greatest Gift" Gospel booklets will be added.  You can be a part of this worldwide effort to grow the Kingdom of God even in places where the Gospel has never been heard.

Simply Giving
The St. John Stewardship Board would like to take this opportunity  to tell you about a simple way you can guarantee your offering to  God.

It's called, Simply Giving.

Simply Giving is a stewardship program that allows anyone from
St. John the chance to give their offering through electronic funds
transfer (EFT) directly from their checking or savings account.
You determine the amount you want to give and the frequency of
your giving. Want to give $50 every week? Perfect! Wish to donate
$125 every other week? You got it! Perhaps you'd like to give
$200 once a month? Absolutely! It's easy to set up. Fill out this form, attach a voided check or savings deposit slip, put it in the offering plate or return it to the
church office.

Simply Giving assures your offering to God is given as you see fit.
It's easy, convenient and helps assure that St. John can meet its financial obligations.
For more information, please contact the church office. f
Forms are also available on the glass case in the Narthex.

Click on the above link to be transferred to the form.

Stained Glass Ministry

We invite you to join us in the dedication of the restored Ascension Window which will be on Reformation Sunday, October 27.
We will also sell some stained glass items in the Narthex on that day.

We are glad to give those of you that didn't get a piece of our historical glass last year another chance to own some. We may work on it a bit more after the first of the year, but this is not a perpetual project so I would encourage you to acquire some if you are interested.
If you could help with the sale of these items, just contact Janet in person or at petefishj@mchsi.com. I will need help before, between and after the services that day.

Janet Petefish, Stained Glass Ministry coordinator.

There will once again be daycare and some treats. Save the Date!

The Children's Christmas Gift store will be coming before you know it!

What: The Family Board is holding a $.25 gift store for kids! This is a fun and easy way for kids to shop for gifts for their family members: mom and dad, grandparents and siblings.
Who: All children accompanied by an adult can shop. Open to the public.
How: Children can bring their quarters and shop for as many gifts as they like. (Gift wrap options available.)
*** Donations of gently used Christmas themed items, craft items,  toys and adult gift items that would be nice for the children to purchase as gifts at the CHRISTMAS, CRAFTS, & KIDS GIFT STORE are needed! Also, tissue paper would be appreciated! You can bring your donated items to the St John office. Thank you.
