As Global E-Waste Outpaces Recycling, Blackbelt360 Joins e-Stewards Enterprise Program to Strengthen Responsible Device Retirement

Seattle, WA. July 15th, 2026. Today, e-Stewards, a leading certification for responsible electronic waste management, announced that Blackbelt360, a global leader in certified data erasure and diagnostics software for device refurbishment, has joined the e-Stewards Enterprise Program. The partnership between e-Stewards and Blackbelt 360 underscores what more businesses are coming to recognize – that how electronics are handled at end-of-life is inseparable from strong risk management, supply chain accountability, and environmental responsibility.

Blackbelt360's software platform delivers secure, certified data erasure and diagnostics for PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, and mobile devices, supporting retailers, carriers, trade-in companies, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) as they refurbish and recirculate technology at scale. Through the partnership, Blackbelt360 will prioritize the use of e-Stewards Certified Processors for the disposal of hardware under its control and report its progress annually to e-Stewards.

"There is growing pressure on enterprises to understand and take ownership of what happens to electronic devices when they reach the end of their useful life," said Selena Turnock, Certification Director, e-Stewards. "Blackbelt360’s commitment to the e-Stewards Enterprise program shows real progress, and it points to the opportunity other companies still have in front of them. Responsible end-of-life management should not be optional – it’s becoming core to how businesses operate."

The e-Stewards certification is widely recognized as the most rigorous standard for ethical electronics processing, requiring strict export controls, safe materials management, and independent verification measures including audits and GPS tracking. Electronic equipment processors that achieve e-Stewards certification must meet comprehensive performance requirements designed to protect both people and the environment. These include prohibiting the export of hazardous e-waste to developing countries, ensuring safe handling of materials of concern, and maintaining verified downstream accountability throughout the recycling chain.

"At Blackbelt360, we view secure data erasure and responsible hardware disposition as two sides of the same coin," said Paul Katzoff, CEO of Blackbelt360. "By joining the e-Stewards Enterprise Program, we’re giving our clients greater confidence that we align with the world’s most rigorous standard for ethical electronics recycling, and partnering with them is valuable to grow a truly circular economy for the 21st century."

Blackbelt360’s entry into the e-Stewards Enterprise Program is the latest sign of a broader shift, as more global companies look to bring their device supply chains in line with the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and responsible recycling.
