Ryerkerk-Griffith WiSE Faculty Fellowship: Dr. Beth Lin Hartmann
Iowa State University College of Engineering teaching professor Beth Lin Hartmann has been named the Ryerkerk-Griffith WiSE Faculty Fellow.
ISCORE-NCORE Project for Students
This year-long developmental program on race and ethnicity includes attendance at and participation in NCORE, taking UST 321—a course designed to expand your knowledge of issues around race and provide you with tools to deliver a thought-provoking presentation at ISCORE.

Alpha Sigma Kappa: Women in Technical Studies


Alpha Sigma Kappa: Women in Technical Studies is a social sorority for women pursuing technical (STEM) fields.

Undergrad Research Position: Spring 2022
Prof. Jaime Juarez is currently seeking applicants for a paid research position to work on a project during Spring 2022. The position includes a stipend paid on a bi-weekly basis for up to 10 hours per week and involves the study of flow through porous media. 

The ideal candidate will have a 3.0 GPA or better, have experience with CAD software, and a desire to learn about optical measurement techniques, such as microscopy. 
Interested applicants should forward their resume and transcript to Prof. Jaime Juarez.
WiSE Scholarships - March 1 deadline
The WiSE Scholarship Application is part of the University Scholarship Application (One App).

Scholarship Requirements:
  • Must be majoring or planning to major in an undergraduate STEM field at Iowa State University
  • Identify as female (This includes women who are cisgender, trans, of trans experience, etc.)
  • Must demonstrate financial need determined by the Office of Financial Aid

Application Deadline: March 1, 2022
Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship - Jan 31 deadline
The Hollings Scholarship Program provides successful undergraduate applicants with awards that include academic assistance and a 10-week, full-time paid internship at an NOAA facility during the summer.

Who can apply?
U.S. Citizens with greater than 3.0 GPA who are:
1. Full-time undergraduate students who are in the 2nd year of a 4-year, or 3rd year of a 5-year, program.
  OR
2. Community college or transfer students applying to a four-year institution.
ISU Women's Club Scholarship - Feb 11 deadline
The Iowa State University Women's Club (ISUWC) again this year is recognizing the academic, personal, and community accomplishments of Iowa State University senior and graduate status women students with an ISUWC Scholarship. The ISUWC Scholarship is intended as an honor for personal achievement; financial need is not a consideration. A student may receive the scholarship only once. 
 
The amount of the scholarship is $1000/year or $500/semester for the 2022-2023 academic year. The number of scholarships varies from year to year depending upon the ISUWC funds available. We are anticipating awarding seven (7) scholarships this year. 
 
The criteria for the ISUWC Scholarship are: 
  • Full-time senior or graduate female student at Iowa State University (Fall 2022 ISU classification
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher 
  • Demonstrate qualities of leadership and character that contribute to university and/or community life and further understanding and friendship
Helen Jensen Howe Legacy of Heroines Scholarship - Mar 1 deadline
Helen Jensen Howe Legacy of Heroines Scholarship for Women in Science, which is available to ISU female undergraduates majoring in one of the science programs within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with preference to physics majors. Each spring, a first-year student is selected to receive a $3,000 scholarship for her sophomore year, with the option to renew for $4,000 for her junior year and $5,000 for her senior year.

The application period for all Legacy of Heroines scholarships is open through March 1, 2022, through OneApp. When completing an application, students need to look for the scholarship opportunity called “Carrie Chapman Catt Legacy of Heroines Scholarships” to ensure they are considered for a Legacy of Heroines scholarship.
