This fall, the Baltimore-Washington Conference is offering many events, programs and opportunities for you and your congregation to grow in vitality. The BWC calendar will be updated as new events arise.

1: Missional Innovation Grant Applications open – Funding for faith communities doing creative ministry in the areas of Young People’s Ministry, Advocacy and Action, and Wellness and Mission. Learn more and apply

1: Unified Funding Task Force grant applications due – Funding for congregational development and new ministry initiatives
1: Church Conference Reports Due
1: World Communion Sunday – A denomination-wide observance and offering that supports transforming communities and helps racial and ethnic students meet their goals
9: The Non-Anxious Leader: Family Systems Basics Online Course begins (Runs until Nov. 5; Deadline to apply is Sept. 29)
9: Planter’s Discernment Academy begins (Deadline to register is Sept. 29)
10: Training Tuesday webinar, 7 to 8:30 p.m. – focus on the Staff-Parish Relations Committee
13-16: Border Immersion trip -- Explores migration and justice in San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico
15: Laity Sunday - “Rise Up! — Reveal” (II Tim. 1:8-12)
19: Next Level Speaker Series with Bishop Easterling and the Rev. Kenda Dean, online and in-person at Wyoming UMC in Dover, Del., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Deadline to register for in-person event is Oct. 6)
21: Fall Confirmation Historic Sites Visit — Confirmands and their sponsors will discover some of the unique United Methodist history that shapes our world today
24-26: Living Well Retreat at Ocean City — Mind, Body and Soul care for clergy
24: Training Tuesday webinar, 7 to 8:30 p.m. – Focus on creating a leadership pathway for those serving on the Nominations Committee
28: CRCC - A Diverse Church by Design begins - Training for Cross-Racial and Cross-Cultural leaders and congregations (Deadline to register October 1)

4: Fresh Expressions Academy begins – A 12-month experience to equip laity and clergy to innovate and take risks to engage people not yet part of a faith community. (Deadline to register is October 23)
7: Training Tuesday webinar from 7 to 8:30 p.m. – Focus on the Board of Trustees
9: Clergy Training: Impact of Pornography and the Intersection with Child Sex trafficking and Abuse (Virtual), 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Deadline to register October 20)
