E-News for June 5, 2019
From Our Pastor
Don’t you hate when a show you love or a book you are really enjoying gets to the end? Like all great novels, the story of life is full of exciting plot twists, and even the best sagas come to an end.

This Sunday will be my last Sunday as the principal preacher for the 9:30 servi ce. (Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere, I just won’t be preaching every week!) This marks the end of a delightful chapter in my ministry at New World. I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to offer my voice and my messages in worship this way, and I look forward to seeing what the future will hold with a new senior pastor.

As we enter a new chapter in the chronicles of New World United Methodist Church, it’s a time of change, a time of excitement mixed with uncertainty.

How appropriate that this Sunday is also Pentecost Sunday, the day we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our helper, our guide, our advocate. When we go through whatever adventures life brings us, the Holy Spirit promises to be with us. As we move toward a new chapter in our church, the Holy Spirit faithfully guides us as we continue our mission to Love God, Love Neighbor and Make Disciples.I pray that you will join us this Sunday as we celebrate the Holy Spirit’s role in our storyline... and remember to wear red!

With great love,

Rev. Erin
Associate Pastor
Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the Project Transformation school supply and children’s book drive! We collected 123 books plus several boxes of supplies.

Which college fans had the most spirit and donated the most? A big Hook’em to The University of Texas fans, plus shout outs to TCU and OSU supporters for their generosity. The real winners are the kiddos who will benefit from the donations of course!

Project Transformation programs begin this Wednesday. Please be in prayer for the children, college interns and churches involved in this amazing ministry!

Help Wanted: Project Transformation is also looking for adult volunteers to read with kids 9:30am-12pm July 8-11 at FUMC Bedford. To volunteer, contact Rev. Erin erin@nwumc.org

Thanks again!

God, our Creator, created the world in 7 days.
God is the Word
God gave to us Jesus, God’s only Son
Jesus is God’s Son who suffered a lot to forgive our sins.
We read the Bible to get a deeper understanding of how we should live.
Reading the Bible will improve your life.
God and Jesus are in our life.
Jesus teaches us to live the ways Jesus wants us to.
Christian Community can be found everywhere
Worship is where we learn and talk about God
Worship is a great way to live life.
We try our best to live in Jesus footsteps.
