We welcome all WILPF members to join the monthly Jane Addams Branch event
Wednesday, April 17
5 pm PT / 6 pm MT / 7 pm CT/ 8 pm ET
The April guest speakers are WILPF US members who attended CSW 68
(the 68th UN’s Commission for the Status of Women Forum).
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. During its annual two-week session, representatives of UN Member States, civil society organizations and UN entities gather at UN headquarters in New York to discuss progress and commit to further action. The outcomes and recommendations of each session are forwarded to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Commission’s parent body, for follow-up.
Please register in advance for this 5 pm PT / 6 pm MT / 7 pm CT/ 8 pm ET meeting, using this link.
We organize our sponsored CSW participants via WILPF US’s two programs:
1. UN Practicum in Advocacy (Coordinated by Shilpa Pandey) Motivated young Americans who wish to make a difference in the fields of peace, justice, and human rights work. This can include college students, graduates, and young people working in nonprofits or even slightly older folks looking to start a second career.
2. Local to Global Program (Coordinated by Jan Corderman) Seasoned WILPF members with a demonstrated commitment to peace, justice, and human rights, as a way of deepening their understanding of WILPF US’s connection to the UN programs and networking with global women activists.
Learn about and find out how you or someone you know could be part of the WILPF US CSW programs!
