PTSA Board Meeting Summary (September 20)

At the September 20 PTSA Board meeting, Principal Tarance Hart discussed the possibility of returning to a single-lunch schedule, confirmed that PTSA funding will enable the school to hire a part-time volunteer and communications coordinator, and provided other school updates. The 35 attendees also heard about the draft 2022-23 budget and brainstormed ideas for upcoming General Meetings.

Registration for Garfield's Jazz 3 Club is now open! The ensemble meets before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for one hour beginning in October. No audition required. If your student is interested in joining, please ask them to sign up at Room 219 by Friday, September 23.

Garfield Jazz Ensemble 1 will perform in the Earshot Jazz Festival at Town Hall on Saturday, October 8, at 7:30 pm. This year's concert is a tribute to Seattle's beloved pianist Overton Berry.

School-Day SAT and PSAT 

October 12 will be the school day SAT for 12th grade and PSAT/NMSQT for 11th grade. Students will be automatically registered for the tests. The school-day test is free for SPS students.
