In today's Hot Finds I am premiering a new unboxing video. This collection is from a guy that did his Scouting in Idaho back in the late 1960s early 1970s. He was in the right place to attend the 1969 National Jamboree that was held there. But he also attended some OA conclaves and the highlight of his career was going to the 1971 World Scout Jamboree in Japan.

I just love opening up these time capsule collections. I define that as a collection that is unspoiled and has everything he held onto over the decades. I can only guess he kept his sash and Eagle medal as these were not part of the group I got.
There are a few things from this group that will go in my personal collection. I wish the 1971 WSJ contingent hat would fit my head but that's not going to happen. Instead I'll add three Region 11 OA conclaves to my collection.
The items from Sel Koo Sho Lodge 311 are not great and for collectors neither are the various Jamboree pieces. But there was such variety in there that I'll make enough back to break even. After filming the video I did make a deal to purchase the collection and this week I'll try and get some of the items posted up and available.
I am doubling down on my auction strategy now that my store is over 30k items. More auctions means more eyes on the inventory already available. I have 372 auctions running including a giant wave all closing Sunday. I don't know if I can keep it up but I'm trying a Sunday-Sunday run on 234 issues. Lots of guys have success with that schedule so I'm trying to launch stuff daily AND have a big Sunday wave.
Today I took my son to the park during his virtual recess. I had a lunch packed to go and we took bikes. He even got to get in the stream and splash around like a kid. It was a nice change from sitting in his bedroom staring at zoom. We are all ready for this to be over.

In Charlotte, North Carolina I have an antique mall booth that is filled with nothing but Scouting stuff. I call this location my clearance center because I've marked down everything to move. A lot of what you will find there are items that are too bulky to easily ship from an Internet store. The booth is located in The Sleepy Poet which is a well established antique mall on South Blvd in Charlotte. The mall is open 7-days/week year round. So the next time you are in the area come check it out.
