eBay Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter
Sunday Morning
March 7, 2021
Yesterday was a big day in our family's Scouting journey as my son Patrick was awarded his Arrow of Light.  He has toughed it out since Tigers and fought through the challenge of keeping his Scout spirit going through COVID.  Along the way we went on many camping trips and hopefully he learned a lot about having fun in the outdoors.
This Weekend Is Loaded With Auctions
I spent hours Friday afternoon rearranging chairs on the Titanic.  Ok well not quite that bad but I was moving boxes and totes on the upper shelves in my warehouse that I could only get to on a tall ladder.  What started as a simple request from one of my Webelos dads to find his kid a pair of green Scout pants turned into a major reorganization project.

Order of the Arrow Auctions Up For Bids
So after tagging all the totes, merging together cardboard boxes and finding two big Rubbermaids full of green pants (80s-90s) here are my results.  I have a crap ton of Cub Scout uniform parts almost all long sleeve blue shirts and some pants.  I'm sitting on probably 300+ Scout t-shirts that I'm going to try on eBay later this spring.  I think I could outfit a jamboree subcamp in olive green Scout shirts and pants.  Very few adult sizes (please don't ask) but just gobs of green.
Auctions Are The Hot Finds Secret Sauce
So now what I've told some people is my "death pile" is much better organized.  I have some options though. I can donate the Cub shirts to local packs if they'll have them.  The olive green uniform parts can go to Barstow this summer to be given out at museum night.  One night (probably Tuesday after dinner) Matt Delk and I are going to set up a sweet pop-up museum for an evening activity.

Patchblanket Santeeswapper eBay Store
I have 178 neckerchiefs ending at auction tonight on eBay.  They run the table from camp neckerchiefs, West Point Camporee, council events, OA you name it.  When I was sorting out the warehouse I did all the neckerchiefs at once and so it's a real grab bag of everything.

Tomorrow I'll be publishing the next episode of my podcast.  This one is an interview with Chris Brightwell as we recap the history the original patch collecting podcast Clothtalk from 2005-2006.
