Friday Morning Edition
March 1, 2019

Last night after the troop meeting Sophia convinced me to take her and a buddy to our local Krispy Kreme for a treat.  I told them the condition was they had to pose in front of my favorite restaurant photo at that location and recreate it.  I think they did a pretty good job!. The meeting last night was interesting as the council sent a film crew to create a video on our troop to use at the upcoming council banquet.  While cleaning my warehouse I found a stack of refrigerator magnets with the Scout Oath on them and luckily had one for each girl that was present last night.
Vintage eBay Scout Auctions This Weekend
Well if that $2k+ Lodge 136 flap doesn't attract a click from you today I don't know what will.  In this era I think that's a can't miss item.  I posted it on Facebook yesterday and heard that the seller dug up on the family and bought the estate.  Home Run!

Auctions Ending Friday & Saturday on eBay
It's a good weekend when you can say you are looking at 2 collections sandwiched around a Cub Scout sleepover trip to Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The first was a total surprise as someone called me yesterday that stumbled across my antique mall booth and took a card.  Turns out he has the collection that his mom and dad assembled and is looking to get some money for it.  The weird thing is I researched my sales history and YES indeed I sold some of the items to his parents 10+ years ago.

Boy Scout Memorabilia Auctions on eBay
The collection I'm picking up Sunday is one that I've known about for a while.  The parents have moved to a retirement facility and the kids are getting the house ready to sell.  Since dad was a lifetime Scouter you can imagine what kind of stuff is there.  I don't think he was ever a collector but more of an accumulator over his Scouting years.

Patchblanket Santeeswapper Store on eBay
Now here is the problem.  I have just spent 2 weeks organizing my warehouse so everything has a place and no boxes are blocking the aisles.  If I push hard today I can even get the floor swept and the sorting table cleaned off.  Then I'm going to bring in 2 more collections including the 2nd which I'm sure is full of books and mugs! Nooooo.....
Ok you are going to get a kick out of this!  So I snapped a picture of Sophia last night getting some Scout requirement stuff signed off after our meeting.  She is not wearing the modern zip-off pants but some classic shorts from the 1990s (thanks Oscar).  After the meeting she said "oh yeah dad Mary and Catherine want a pair of shorts like mine".  Finally!  There is a market for all the dark green 80s and 90s uniform pants and shorts that I have in tubs.  It took Scouts BSA girls with some fashion sense to appreciate these shorts....Oscar de la Renta can sleep peacefully tonight in his grave.  :)
Have a great weekend,
