Friday Morning Edition
Feb. 21, 2020

This weekend I've got to head to camp in order to conduct staff interviews and meet with my program director. All of our promotion efforts have paid off and this summer we already have a huge increase in registered attendance.  Now to fill in the missing pieces to run that great program.

Last night was AOL crossover for our troop.  Six Scouts joined our troop from the Cub Scout pack and were welcomed on the other side of the bridge.  I believe we will get a big influx of parents and committee members as well which will be a welcome addition.  These new Scouts are now in the Otter patrol and will be going camping this weekend to jump right in.

Today I'm expecting a resupply delivery for Best Hobby Pages.  I also look to get a redesigned flier back from my printer really soon.  Up to this point I have not had any marketing for the new products I've added in the last six months but that will soon change.

Our schools are closed today because two snow flakes fell in Charlotte yesterday and it's beautiful and sunny today.  No really that's pretty much the truth!  So that has thrown a kink in some of my plans but I can work from home and keep the kiddos company.

I have over 100 neckerchiefs up for bids on eBay including Jamboree  and Philmont contingent neckers from all over.  I've learned that you never really know what's going to happen with something as obscure as a 50 year old contingent piece so it's best to run it at auction and let everybody have a shot!
In a week in which the BSA finally pulled the trigger that had been rumored for many months let me give you a sign of hope.  Six new Scouts started their trail last night.  At the troop level Scouting still lives on even while the lawyers are sharpening their knives to get a pound of flesh (and a payday).  This weekend I'll visit a camporee and see more smiling faces and happy Scouts.  So while the media and opinionated liberal columnists try to convince America that the BSA is toast I can tell you from the ground level we will continue and thrive in the 21st Century.
Have a great weekend,
