Well yesterday I brought home a kitten to join the family. We have had cats over the years but it turns out Charlotte has not been very kind to outdoor cats. We lost both of ours about a year apart. So this new addition came from a litter one of my former students was trying to find homes for. We don't have a name yet but a trip to the Vet scheduled for next week will help us decide for sure if this is a boy or girl. Then naming will get a little easier.

I do want to apologize for sending ya'll the wrong newsletter yesterday. I was at my mom's house and in a hurry to get going on some chores she had lined up for me. So I hit the wrong buttons and selected the Scouting guys by mistake. Long time readers will know I do this every couple of years - it's almost like a jinx!
Today I read up about Facebook Stores. This is not something that is actually rolled out completely yet. But I am always trying to stay on top of the next shiny object in the ecommerce marketplace. I've had my Shopify store connected to Facebook for years but it's a clunky experience. So I'll keep an eye out and report once this feature is offered to my page and I can set something up.
Sadly the 90th Anniversary of Camp Barstow won't see a summer camp. However we had an amazing patch set designed to celebrate and the council has decided to move ahead and still issue the set including an anniversary belt buckle. There is even a limited edition border color to get collectors excited. I helped design this set so I am a big fan of the history it represents. All told it celebrates 100 years of the council, 90 years of the camp and 25 years at the current location on Lake Murray in SC.
Today I've got to open a box of consignment stuff and get to working on that. Tuesday's are a day I'm alone in the office and I can work on lots of projects while M-W-F are the shipping days typically.

In Charlotte, North Carolina I have an antique mall booth that is filled with nothing but Scouting stuff. I call this location my clearance center because I've marked down everything to move. A lot of what you will find there are items that are too bulky to easily ship from an Internet store. The booth is located in The Sleepy Poet which is a well established antique mall on South Blvd in Charlotte. The mall is open 7-days/week year round. So the next time you are in the area come check it out.
