Rockford Reformed Church
Loving Others Toward Christ

Jesus has called us to bring people to saving faith in him. We bring people to Jesus by loving people to Jesus. People don't care how much we know until they know how much we care. If we are to be a church that brings people to Christ, we must have amazing hospitality. We also need to be there for those who don't know Jesus, caring for them in love right where they live. And, yes, we also need to know how to share the good news of Jesus in a loving and compelling way. Join us as we dive into this important series: Loving Others Toward Christ.

Thy Kingdom Come: Practical Applications of the Resurrection
March 5 - May 7 - Led by Bren Shantz, Fireside Room
This study is based on the book Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church by NT Wright. Bren will present 6 video sessions to talk about specific topics from the book, with lots of group discussion before and after. He will be using the Easter season - which focuses so exclusively on the act of Jesus' resurrection - to move beyond the abstract theology of life after death to speak openly about how the hope of resurrection might practically and profoundly impact our daily lives right now.
Trivia Night

Friday, March 3, 6:15-9:00pm in the gym. Does your brain hold a lot of useless information? Then invite your friends, neighbors, or family members to join us for a fun night of trivia, led by MI Team Trivia. Enter as a team of 5-8 and work together to answer the questions. No team? No problem! We will place you with an existing team or form a team with others who come solo. Click here for more information or to register.
Discovery Class

Begins Wednesday, March 8, 6:45-8:00pm. 6 weeks. Interested in church membership or just want to know more about RRC? Contact the church office to sign up. Childcare available if needed.

Sunday, March 12, 10am in the gym.
Consistory will be holding a congregational update meeting on Sunday, March 12 between services. Adult Sunday School will not meet, so that all may attend the meeting. Children's and Youth Sunday School still meet.

Saturday, March 18, 9 am-3 pm in the gym. The annual church garage sale to support Rockford Reformed Church Youth Ministries is coming up! Money raised at the garage sale will go towards supporting the youth summer mission trips. To make this year another great success we need your stuff! So clean out those closets and bring your "junk" to church! Items can be dropped off March 13-17. Signs in the gym will show you where to place your items. Donation receipt forms will be available. Please note that we cannot take any large appliances or TV's. Cash and checks will be accepted at the sale. If you have any questions, please contact Deb Coon (204-3860).

Monday, March 20, 7:00-8:30pm, Open House Style in the Fellowship Hall. Our Hearts for Orphans Jewelry Fundraiser this year will be to help Rob and Stephanie Bergman, who are in the process of adoption. Our generous jewelry lady at Premier Designs donates ALL of her profits to our orphan ministry - that's 50% of total sales! Can't come but would like to order? There will be catalogs available at church in the weeks before the show. Place orders and catalogs in Rebecca Cruttenden's mailbox.

Baskets due Sunday, April 2. We are hoping to gather up to 240 filled Easter baskets for children who may not get to experience the joy of Easter. We will be providing empty Easter baskets. Anyone who is willing to fill them with small toys, treats, and a personal note can pick them up in the lobby starting March 5.

Wednesday, April 12, 6:30pm in the gym. Hot dogs and chips available for dinner. Everyone is invited to join us for an evening of races, prizes, food, and fun! The main KidLife Club race (grades K-5) will take place as usual, with cars created by the kids in class and racing against their own age group. Cars do not go home with kids until the race is over. We are once again opening up a second optional round of races for those who want to work on a car at home. This round is open to anyone - parents, high schoolers, middle schoolers. Details available on our website.

Saturday, May 13. We're looking for 20 people to join the Rockford Reformed Adoption Team for the Fifth Third River Bank Run on Saturday, May 13. All of the money we raise will go toward Rob and Stephanie's adoption fundraising. Our goal? To raise $3,000! The 5K Walk is a great family event with strollers and dogs on leashes welcome. Registration instructions are on our website.
