Sermon Series - The Christian Family

Paul calls marriage a profound mystery. Throughout the Bible both marriage and family are seen as foundational for healthy life and healthy society. Through godly marriages and families, God's relationship with us is mirrored, godly character is formed, and our faith is passed on to the next generation. In this series, we will look at the purpose and covenant of marriage. We will explore the relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, and even employers and employees. This is a series about love and relationships, the very heart of our Christian faith and our lives in Christ.

Garage Sale
 - THIS WEEK

Saturday, March 18, 9 am-3 pm in the gym.
The annual church garage sale to support Rockford Reformed Church Youth Ministries is coming up! Money raised at the garage sale will go towards supporting the youth summer mission trips. To make this year another great success we need your stuff! So clean out those closets and bring your "junk" to church!  Items can be dropped off March 13-17 during office hours (8:30-4:30). Signs in the gym will show you where to place your items. Donation receipt forms will be available. Please note that we cannot take any large appliances or TV's. Cash and checks will be accepted at the sale. If you have any questions, please contact Deb Coon (204-3860).

Monday, March 20, 7:00-8:30pm, Open House Style in the Fellowship Hall. Our Hearts for Orphans Jewelry Fundraiser this year will be to help Rob and Stephanie Bergman, who are in the process of adoption. Our generous jewelry lady at Premier Designs donates ALL of her profits to our orphan ministry - that's 50% of total sales! Can't come but would like to order? There will be catalogs available at church in the weeks before the show. Place orders and catalogs in Rebecca Cruttenden's mailbox.

March 27 - April 14 in the upper level of the gym.  To observe Lent, our Journey to the Cross Prayer Walk will be available to individuals, families, and groups. You are invited to walk through 7 interactive, self-guided stations designed to help you reflect upon the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus' death so that you might experience the grace and love of God more profoundly during this Lenten season. Availability coincides with weekly office hours (8:30am-4:30pm) and evening/weekend programming when building is open. Some times may be quieter than others. For guidance on group or quiet times, call the office at 616-866-2308.

Saturday, April 1, 8am-12noon. Lunch provided. Come help us keep our church grounds looking great! The more help we have, the faster we can get things done. Please bring wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, etc.

Baskets due Sunday, April 2. We are hoping to gather up to 240 filled Easter baskets for children who may not get to experience the joy of Easter. We will be providing empty Easter baskets. Anyone who is willing to fill them with small toys, treats, and a personal note can pick them up in the lobby starting March 5.

Saturday, April 29, 8am-2pm in the gym. All proceeds from this garage sale will go toward the Bergman family adoption. Stop by and shop for a good cause!

Saturday, May 13. We're looking for 20 people to join the Rockford Reformed Adoption Team for the Fifth Third River Bank Run on Saturday, May 13. All of the money we raise will go toward Rob and Stephanie's adoption fundraising. Our goal? To raise $3,000! The 5K Walk is a great family event with strollers and dogs on leashes welcome. Registration instructions are on our website.
