Youth Activities from Heather
Meet Myra Kettles

Hi, I’m Myra Kettles and I want to share some things about myself. I love to be creative. In this picture you can see the result of a tie dying project I just finished. I dyed socks and a little backpack. Other recent crafts and art projects include: using the Cricket Machine to design pieces for t-shirts, painting pictures on a number of different sizes of canvas and making detailed scratch pictures.

On Tuesday night I was Heather’s co-host for Hands and Hearts Craft Club, I h elped demonstrate how to make/construct the paper tube marionettes. I made one to show what the finished project would look like and then I helped demonstrate step by step how to make them.

It’s hard not seeing my friends and I miss playing sports. I play ringette and lacrosse. It helps that I can go outside and skate on our synthetic ice pad, go rollerblading and jump on our trampoline. My sister Tessa has been doing a lot of the activities with me, making embroidery floss creations and practicing playing her flute.

I’m looking forward to making the “Kindness Rocks” that Heather mentions below.

Good Choices

Firm Foundation?

The home improvement show "330" gives a builder $3000 and 30 days to build a kid's dream fort, but "Handy Dan" takes shortcuts and the fort becomes a death trap. Find out what happens when we don't build our lives on a firm foundation.

Wise Up

Kindness Rocks
Have you heard about the Kindness Rocks Movement? Kindness rocks are small painted rocks that are left around your neighbourhood for someone to find and bring them joy.
Click on the rocks to find out how to make these.
Hebrews 10:24-25
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting, but encouraging one another”
Good Idea/Bad Idea Cards

  • MATCHING GAME: “Good Idea or Bad Idea?”
  • Click on the game cards to the left.
  • Print two sets of the game cards on card stock paper.
  • Cut out the cards, separate them into sets, and then shuffle each deck.
  • Divide the children into two teams and have them work together to find the “good” idea and the “bad” idea that match.
  • The team who correctly matches all twelve pairs first is the winning team.
  • This game will help the children understand that there is a right (wise) decision for every wrong (unwise) decision.
PRAYER
“Dear God, we want to be wise according to your standards. Give us the desire and strength to walk in wisdom. Amen.”
