This weekend
All Ages Worship - Holy Communion Sunday
This Sunday, November 10th , will be our third All Ages Worship service. Once again we have great interactive ideas planned for the service that people of all generations will hopefully find engaging and meaningful. Some of our children will help lead worship along with adults of all ages. On this Holy Communion Sunday, we will explore the various meanings of “Communion” in our lives, in age-appropriate ways. We hope you can join us this Sunday.
Want to learn more about our church - and maybe become a member?
Rev. Dale Azevedo invites you to join him this Sunday, November 10th for ‘ Conversations about our Church ’ from 11:30 am – 1 pm in the library. Whether you are new to our church community or have been coming for some time, you are very welcome to attend. The session will give you an opportunity to learn more about who we are and what we believe, and will give you the information needed to decide if you’d like to join our church at this time. Our next New Member Sunday is November 24th. If you’d like to attend “Conversations” either let the church office know by this Friday, Nov 8th, or just show up on Sunday after church as walk-ins are very welcome! Child care is being provided.
Sing and Celebrate Children's Choir
Our Sing and Celebrate Choir will rehearse after church at 11:20 am in Room 6 this Sun, Nov 10 in preparation for singing during the worship service the following Sunday, Nov 17th. If you have a child who might like to sing in our children’s choir, we’d love them to join us.  Questions, contact Kate Colby at 246-1743 or .
TAPIN Thanksgiving Food Collection
We are again joining with other houses of worship in town to help provide the food that is given away to those in need in the TAPIN Thanksgiving Food bags. This year our congregation is being asked to donate Stuffing Mix , Cranberry Sauce, and Gravy.  (Please note that TAPIN is not allowed to split up large boxes of items purchased from BJ’s etc – they can only give out the regular packaged boxes.) TAPIN helps about 350 families in the East Bay area each Thanksgiving so lots is needed! Food donations may be placed in the bins in the narthex (on your way into church) or in the one near the stage in Fellowship Hall. TAPIN also accepts monetary donations for the purchase of gift cards which they can buy in bulk at a discount. (Checks can be made payable to ‘BCCUCC’ with ‘TAPIN’ in the memo line.)  Donations will be collected again on November 10th & 17th.   Deadline for delivery of items to TAPIN is Mon, Nov 18th.
New in this eBridge!!

BCCUCC is going to Puerto Rico
For our annual mission trip, we are leading an intergenerational (age 16+) mission/service trip to Puerto Rico from June 20-27, 2020. We have 10 folks signed up with room for a few more.  Are you interested?  If so, contact Dale ( ) or the church office ( ). If you aren’t able to join us on the trip, please consider supporting our team at any of our upcoming fundraising events being scheduled throughout the year.  For more information see the church website ( )

'Bring and Buy' Bake Sale
Just in time for the start of the holiday season, on Sunday, November 24th we will be having our first mission trip fundraiser for the group going to Puerto Rico in June, 2020 (see above). All are encouraged to bring a baked item to church that can be sold and buy something that someone else made. Baked goods will be placed on a table in the foyer. Meet our friendly mission trip participants who will be tending the table. Buy yummy baked goods for Thanksgiving and support our church’s mission trip. The mission trip team thanks you for your support!
Casting call for the Christmas Pageant
Calling all aspiring wise people, barn animals, angels, and shepherds! Mary and Joseph we need you too! All kids in the church school are encouraged to come to the pageant casting call after church on Sunday, November 24th at 11:30 am in the sanctuary. The nativity puppets are still on strike and so we are going to have a traditional pageant this year. We are asking the kids in the church school to come and sign up for their part in the pageant! We will have a LIVE nativity this year! This might be your child’s opportunity to be a star… literally! For more information contact our Christian Education Coordinator, Andrea Bullard, at or (401) 246-0111 x 107.

Don't forget!
Have you submitted YOUR family photo yet?
We certainly hope so as we want ALL of our church members and friends to be included!  We have a great start to our directory, but many of you are still missing.  Never fear, it’s not too late!  Please send a photo of your family to us soon.  It doesn’t have to be anything formal or fancy, it can even be a “selfie” as long as it includes YOU. Whether you’re a family of one or many more – we want a photo that includes you all! Photos can be emailed to Elizabeth Azevedo . Questions/concerns? Contact Elizabeth at 860-301-2915.
Coffee Hour needs your help
Coffee Hour is hosted throughout the year by various ministry teams. The church provides the coffee, tea and juice, but all the food is provided by the team assigned for that month. Since not all our ministry teams are at full complement and others are small, the jobs of providing food, serving and cleanup for 4 or 5 Sundays in a row is becoming exhausting for team members. The proposed remedy is for the ministry teams to still oversee coffee hour for the month they are assigned but with help from the church community . There are signup sheets in Fellowship Hall on Sundays to sign on for additional help with food, serving and cleanup. Lists are currently through December. Those who signup will receive an email reminder the Wednesday before the Sunday that they have volunteered to help. If you're not in church to sign up but would like to help, please contact Jane Tonn at or 289-2349. Thank you.

As they unravel the mystery behind the embroidered story, alternating chapters reveal the sorrowful life of Mei Lein, a Chinese girl who left behind her story stitched on silk.” (Library Journal).
