New Sermon Series in August!
In August Dale will share a sermon series taking a fresh look at the 10 Commandments. What is the point of these old but telling laws? Are these 10 any more important than the other 603 commandments found in the Hebrew scriptures (Old Testament)? And what is their primary focus? God, us, or someone else? Come and explore these ancient commands and what relevance they hold for you today.
Attention all team and church group leaders etc!
If you haven't yet sent calendar information to Christine for 2019-2020 please do so a.s.a.p. The staff are getting together on August 13th to work on the church calendar for the upcoming year, and we'd like to include the dates for the various meetings/events or anything else that you are planning.
Please send all info to office@bccucc.org by Aug 5th or a.s.a.p. thereafter if it’s to be considered at the planning meeting. The calendar can be viewed at http://bccucc.view-events.com but all info for 2019-2020 won’t be final until late August after any conflicts and additional information has been added. Thank you for your help in putting together a cohesive and exciting schedule for our next church year together!

Latest update from the McCoys - the family will soon be in RI!
Lory and Charlie McCoy will soon be welcoming to their home a woman and her three daughters from Mexico who are legally seeking asylum in the US. Below is the latest update from Lory.

The 16 year old daughter flew from Florida to El Paso on July 20th and had a tearful reunion with her mother and two younger sisters ( see photo ). The McCoys are hoping to fly the four of them to Providence on August 6th, and as Lory writes "then the joyous work begins!"
The family will need a lot of assistance as they transition to RI. The McCoys are willing to provide for most of their needs, but are looking for additional assistance from the congregation. Learn about what's needed.
To help or be involved in some way, please contact Lory at lsnadymccoy@gmail.com or 401-369-2341. Thank you.

From the River's Edge
What does God want from you?

by Rev. Dale Azevedo, Sr. Minister - August 1, 2019 There is something about being on vacation that makes me ponder the future. I ask myself things like "What will next year be like?" or "What do I want to be doing in five years? Or 10 years?"

Do you need a nametag?
Wearing a nametag helps everyone get to know each other, and is also welcoming to newcomers. Please wear your nametag for worship and coffee hour on Sundays. If you need a nametag you can sign up for one in the vestry hallway or at the Welcome Table in Fellowship Hall or email the church office. Newly made nametags are placed in the specially labeled basket on the sideboard in the vestry hallway for you to pick up on a Sunday morning.
