One Trip. One Event. Your Entire Live CLE Completed For Next Year

If Sun Valley has been on your “maybe” list, now is the time to commit!

The Bar’s 95th Anniversary Summer Convention returns to Sun Valley, August 5-8, and registration has already been open for several weeks. With strong early interest, sponsor participation, and limited lodging availability, we do not want you or your firm to miss the opportunity to be part of this historic gathering.

You can satisfy all required live CLE credits nearly 10 months ahead of compliance deadlines, while also enjoying the networking, traditions, and relationships that have made this premier event meaningful. Quite simply, there is no guarantee the convention will return to Sun Valley again anytime soon.

We hope you, your colleagues, and your families will join us for what promises to be one of the most memorable summer events of the year.

One-and-Done CLE at the summer convention!

MANDATORY ONLINE LICENSING

The annual Utah State Bar online licensing renewal process is now open. An email with instructions for renewing online through your practice portal was sent on June 1.

All renewals must be completed online at services.utahbar.org. Attorneys are required to complete the renewal form individually and certify that they are the licensee identified in the renewal system.

The Bar accepts all major credit cards, as well as ACH/E-check payments. Paper checks will not be accepted.

To avoid a $100 late fee, your completed renewal and payment must be received no later than July 31. If your renewal is not completed and all fees are not paid before September 1, your license will be suspended.

For assistance with the online renewal process, please contact us by email at licensing@utahbar.org.

Additional information regarding licensing policies, procedures, and guidelines is available at www.utahbar.org/licensing.

New Email Subject Line Schema

We are introducing a standardized email subject line format to help licensees more quickly identify the purpose and urgency of Bar communications.

The new structure — “[CATEGORY] | Brief Description – Date” — is designed to improve readability, organization, and compatibility with AI-powered email tools and mobile previews.

By using consistent category labels such as [CLE], [NOTICE], [LICENSING], and [ALERT], the Bar aims to make emails easier to search, prioritize, and distinguish from routine communications. The initiative is part of the Bar’s ongoing effort to modernize communications and improve accessibility for licensees. If you have questions, email communications@utahbar.org.
