Vote in the 2026 Bar Elections

All Utah attorneys are encouraged to submit their retention vote for President-Elect Thomas J. Bayles. Attorneys in the Third Division should also select three of the following four candidates:

  • Tyler Ayres
  • Ashley Biehl
  • Ezzy Khaosanga
  • Walter A. Romney

Utah State Bar Opposes DOJ Rule

Before the closure of public comments, the Utah State Bar formally issued a comment in opposition to the Department of Justice’s proposed rule, Review of State Bar Complaints and Allegations Against Department of Justice Attorneys. This rule seeks to grant the DOJ the "right of first review" over ethics complaints against its attorneys, requiring state bars to pause their own independent investigations indefinitely. 2026 Summer Convention Awards

The Board of Bar Commissioners is accepting nominations for the Summer Convention Awards. These awards recognize individuals and groups who have made meaningful contributions to the legal profession, public service, and the administration of justice.


Nominations are due by
Monday, June 1, 2026. To view past recipients and submit a nomination, click here.

  • Judge of the Year
  • Lawyer of the Year
  • Section of the Year
  • Committee of the Year

Seeking Nominations for Paralegal of the Year

We invite you to nominate individuals who demonstrate excellence in the paralegal profession. This is a great opportunity to recognize outstanding dedication, professionalism, and contributions.
