Applications are now being accepted for the position of district court judge of the Third District Court. This position results from the confirmation of Judge John Nielsen to the Utah Supreme Court.


Applications are also being accepted for the position of district court judge of the Fifth District Court. This position results from the retirement of Judge John Walton.

Court Parking Changes

The Utah State Courts announced that public parking in the underground garage at the Scott M. Matheson Courthouse will end on January 1, 2026, as part of broader efforts to enhance safety and security while preserving convenient access.


Visitors are encouraged to use public transit, especially the adjoining TRAX Courthouse Station and nearby UTA bus routes, or park at several facilities within one block, including the 500 South Surface Lot, WaFed Building Garage, 175 East 400 South Lot, and metered street parking. Parking for jurors will continue. Updated maps, parking information & answers to frequently asked questions will be posted at www.utcourts.gov & displayed on-site before the effective date.
