STATEMENT OF WELCOME AND INCLUSION
We welcome all people to the life of this congregation. We believe that we are all in need of God’s love and grace and that God, through Jesus Christ, intends the church to be a community that incarnates love, grace, and justice for all people. Holding true to that belief, we welcome and encourage all persons, including persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities, in every aspect of our Christian life together.

Fall Book Study 2023
“The Spirit of Methodism”
Mondays at 6PM on Zoom
Oct. 16th - Nov. 20th
Join Piers Fetters for another virtual book study as we read together, “The Spirit of Methodism.” In this book, Methodist theologian Jeffrey W. Barbeau provides a brief and helpful introduction to the history of Methodism―from the time of the Wesleys, through developments in North America, to its diverse and global communion today―as well as its primary beliefs and practices. With Barbeau's guidance, both those who are already familiar with the Wesleyan tradition and those seeking to know more about this significant movement within the church's history will find their hearts warmed to Methodism.

If you struggle with grief, consider joining our weekly grief support meeting. Starting on Monday, September 25th at 6:15 pm you'll find a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. By attending weekly meetings, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

Did you know that our church was recently recognized by the Illinois State Historical Society as a Sesquicentennial House of Worship? The Sesquicentennial House of Worship program “seeks to recognize historic churches, synagogues, meeting houses, and their congregations, who have served their communities for generations…” Over the years, nearly 500 Illinois houses of worship have been recognized.
Besides receiving the accompanying certificate, we were featured in the September-October 2023 issue of Illinois Heritage, the magazine of the Illinois State Historical Society. A copy of this magazine is available in the church office.
