Seculosity of Death with Rev. Connor Gwin
Wednesday, November 4th - Seculosity of Death Speaker: The Reverend Connor Gwin, associate rector for family ministry at Christ Episcopal Church, Charlotte

The weekend of Halloween, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day make us face the obvious: We are all going to die. This is a universal fact of life, but what happens when the religious understanding of death and dying disappears? Join the Rev. Connor Gwin for a discussion of the secular religions concerning death that are gaining momentum in our modern age. From Heaven is for Real to “death hacking”, we will see what our culture thinks about death and what Good News actually sounds like when talking about the ultimate question.

Our Stewardship Matters
It's Stewardship season, & this is our time to listen to God’s call to us to sustain the mission and ministries of our church. In the coming months we will share some powerful stories about the Holy Spirit moving among us. Pandemic or not, we continue to be Doers because We are the Church.

Blake Singer, Lay Chaplain for Community Life, Discipleship, and Service, is a recent graduate of Duke Divinity School. He and his wife Kilpy have instantly become immersed in many ministries at St. James’s. Blake’s primary focus is on the Community Life of our parish. Invite Welcome Connect will be a major emphasis to reinforce welcoming of visitors and to foster innovative connections between members of our church community.

Watch Blake Singer share his full story.

We make offerings in thanks for God’s generosity to us. You are invited to participate and support our transformative ministries. We are into the season of Annual Giving for the year 2021, we want to be prepared to fulfill our call to serve. Thank you for pledging online by filling out the 2021 Pledge Commitment.
