Thanksgiving Baskets for H.O.M.E.

Thank you, everyone, parishioners (here and far away) and friends of St. Francis by the Sea! Please continue to drop off your items in the crates by the side door when Barbara is in her office. Call Barbara if you wish to contribute the perishable items...turkeys, rolls, and pies. These perishable items should be brought to the church on Thursday morning or Friday morning.

The Delivery Date to H.O.M.E. is this
Friday afternoon. November 20

If you are purchasing a turkey for H.O.M.E. please check at the meat market at Tradewinds. There will be fifteen turkeys reserved for St. Francis at a very low price.

Gifts for the Children of The Emmaus Shelter
Thanks to some very creative thinking by our Outreach Chair, Sue Grindle - and a lot action by Marty Hamblen, and a unanimous vote at a recent Zoom Outreach meeting---

St Francis will be gifting 72 happy children with a book and a toy this Christmas. These will be transported to the Emmaus Shelter by December 18.

And more happy news! The books and toys will help to support two wonderful Blue Hill stores, Blue Hill Books and Out on a Whimsey! Tags with childrens' ages and wrapping paper will go along, as well.

Although we will miss being in the Narthex with our beautiful tree, it will be there with tags made by the children and photos will follow in a future eClare. The decision to not bring gifts into the church is a safe one for all of us in this difficult Covid virus time.

A huge thank you to Sue and to Marty for all of their work on this! If you wish to be part of the fun, $10 will be spent on each child at each store. Checks sent to the church should be earmarked Outreach.

Marty Hamblen will bring a fresh wreath to your home! The prices are terrific and she has more than one size. $15, with a bow, $20, decorated.

All profits will go to St. Francis by the Sea. Thank you, Marty and Nancy! You will need to call right away.

St Francis Church is about to light up the church -and the driveway- and the whole parking lot! It will be a drive-through experience like nothing else!

Fifteen trees are up for adoption. You can decorate,
glitz-orate and most especially have a whole lot of fun.

Other than the four trees in the median-those belong to Peter and Donny Smith, and they will hopefully look decent- you can have any tree or piece of land you want! The driveway entrance and exit will lined with luminaries. Those have been purchased.

Call Sarah Everdell and grab your tree or your spot on the grass. Everything (well, almost everything) goes!
Rumor has it the rector is looking for a donkey (a real one) and there is an outside chance of a "lit-up boat" or a tractor or something or other.

Enough of politics, missing our families..our church family will be having some fun! And we expect the community will, too.

You are welcome to involve friends, too, with their masks and social distancing.

We will be safe, not gathering in the church or side-by-side.

Call Sarah Everdell and "own" your own tree for the night.
(set-up will be on Dec.19)
Thank you, Dick Doane! Dick has volunteered to take all of the Thanksgiving Baskets to H.O.M.E.! Our Sexton's work never ends!

We are in the final weeks of our 2021 HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL stewardship campaign. If you have already pledged thank you! If you have yet to pledge, time is running out. We need your support. We are still 30 pledges short of last year at a moment when your commitment is more important than ever. We remain hopeful that these pledges will come in before our November 22 close. We are inching closer to our goal.

We all love St. Francis and our church community. We’d all like to keep it functioning as it has in the past.

Please prayerfully consider digging just a bit deeper and pledge just a little extra to insure a financially secure St. Francis.
We ARE St. Francis. Our future is up to all of us. We can do this.

Thank you and God Bless.
Christmas Gifting at its best!
