A Reconciling in Christ synod
Church for the Life of the World: Responding to reunited families
It is with deep gratitude that we share an update on the RMS Border Emergency Fund. When we learned of additional support was needed by our ministries welcoming their neighbors, we set an initial goal to offer $10,000 of support.

As of Tuesday, August 7, the Rocky Mountain Synod has received over $19,000 in contributions to support our work on the Border. $7,500 has already been released to Cristo Rey, Peace/Border Servant Corps, and Lutheran Family Services. We are working with these ministries to assess and support on-going needs.

We also know that at least $8,000 was given directly to our Border ministries!

Thank you for your generosity, your witness, and your commitment to being Christ's Church, Better Together!

eConnection Spotlight: RMS in the Neighborhood
Where is God In Immigration Court?
Our Summer intern Katie Kries has headed back to Iowa, but we will continue to share her stories from her time with us!

Each Monday, St. Paul Denver opens their doors to feed their neighbors.

Grant Avenue Street Reach is an amazing organization that assists our friends and neighbors who are part of the homeless community. I wasn't even able to sit down to talk with the people we served (we were just that busy!), but many of the volunteers greeted them by name. It was truly a sense of community. If you're interested in volunteering,  see their website .

"God's work. Our hands." Sunday Project
An invitation to serve at the RMS Lutheran Center
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is Sunday, September 9, 2018. This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.

The Rocky Mountain Synod Lutheran Center (Bishop's Office location) invites a congregation to perform service here. We are in need of some fence staining and other landscape projects, as well as installing LED light bulbs. We already have a Thrivent action grant for supplies. Contact Pastor Kent Mueller if you are interested in this project. (It can take place any time, not just September 9.)

You work every day to make your community a better place. Let us continue doing this work together in 2018! View the  video  and access  resources  to guide your congregation’s planning, promotion, and more.

Prayer of the Day

Gracious God, your blessed Son came down from heaven to be the true bread that gives life to the world. Give us this bread always, that he may live in us and we in him, and that, strengthened by this food, we may live as his body in the world, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Our Life Together
Border Servant Corps #ChurchBetterTogether
What an outpouring of generosity from St Tim's Lutheran Church to support the hospitality ministry for refugee families seeking asylum! An amazing crew made a one-day trip to bring items that will be shared with Border Servant Corps, Peace Lutheran Church, and Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey as, together, we provide hospitality to our neighbors in our midst. What a blessing to be #ChurchBetterTogether.
A Great Community Awaits!
Is your congregation sending high school graduates into the world? A great community awaits them on colleges and universities. Lutheran Campus Ministry supports young adults during those critical years when they are asking, “Who am I and what am I doing here?” These questions are surrounded in worship, bible study, retreats, small groups, trips, mentoring, peer support, and individual (coffee shop) conversations with a pastor.

Help us know that they are coming and we will welcome them with great care. Simply submit their names and contact information at this link and we will do the rest. If you have questions about campus ministry contact any one of the campus pastors listed on the Rocky Mountain Synod website under Faith Formation.
Take faith outside - Living Lutheran

If we want our children to recognize God at work in their ordinary lives, we need to talk about God in ordinary places. Our church is trying something new this summer-we are taking vacation Bible school (VBS) on location. That's right!
