The Stats:
After just under 2 weeks of migration efforts since eDues Day on April 19, you have helped move over 3,100 CTA members to eDues! This number accounts for 45% of our current membership.
While many other local unions across the state have either struggled or not even begun their eDues journey, CTA has blown away all other unions in both raw numbers and pace of migrated members!
Do not let the stats deceive you. We are in a marathon that will run through the end of the school year and into the summer months. 45% after less than 2 weeks is an amazing number to put on the board and has effectively cut our workload in half for the next month as the school year winds to a close. There are no shortcuts here and this will be a grind that takes time. We are in great position to complete our objective.
While our numbers are impressive out of the gate, we need to keep our momentum going for the next four weeks to end the school year on a high-note and at a level of total eDues migrations that will make the summer workload of tracking down those who did not convert to eDues more manageable. Internally, our goal is to have at least 80% of all CTA members enrolled in eDues by the conclusion of the school year.
What do you need to do as eDues coordinators
to keep our success going?
- Schedule an eDues Meeting with all CTA members at your school-site. Notice your meeting via flyers/emails/etc. so members know to attend!
- Contact your LRC for support, tips, eDues documents, flyers, etc. They are making school visits 2-3x a day to help with eDues signups. Ask them for help and tips to success!
- Review your membership eDues roster every Monday when they are updated for you. All eDues Coordinators should receive updated eDues status rosters by Monday at noon of each week from their school's assignbed LRC.
- Engage in one-on-one conversations with all CTA members who haven't enrolled yet. The overwhelming majority of CTA members who have not migrated to eDues yet just need to be asked face-to-face.
Tell CTA members at your school who have completed their eDues signup processes to spread the word about how easy and quick this is! Word of mouth matters and an army of help for you as an eDues Coordinator will make your task easier to complete!
Additionally, we have recruited over 300 new CTA members in the past 3 weeks under Join-Now-Pay-Later. Boosting our total membership above 7,260 and within range of achieving the new minimum density for a teachers union to exist under the law (60%). Our current membership puts us at 58% with a whole month left to recruit new members before summer break. To ge to 60% we need approximately 7,500 total CTA members. I am positive we will achieve this level by the end of May. Keep doing what you are doing and letting potential-members know what is taking place in state law and the implications and real-world consequences of losing your union and potentially your collective bargaining agreement.
Celebrating Success:
So far 2 schools have achieved 100% eDues migration of their membership. They are Belle Glade Elementary and L.C. Swain Middle!!! Many other schools are well on their way and a number are sitting in the 70-80-90% range as we speak.
Special thanks to Belle Glade eDues Coordinators Octavian Prince, Tania Diaz, and Summer Miller and L.C. Swain eDues Coordinator Stacy Tepper!
