1. Avoid small text. Avoid using very small text in your documents. Keep your fonts larger than 12 point. Also, make sure to use actual text rather than text in images. Zooming in on text inside images becomes blurry, which is bad for legibility and actual text does not require alternative text.

3. Transparency. Research amply demonstrates that students learn and perform better when they understand what they're supposed to learn from assignments and why certain learning activities are being used. Some fairly easy changes to your assignments can produce far better student work.
