Scripture Readings for Sunday

Today’s texts offer instruction and encouragement for all who are occasionally overwhelmed by the “unhappy business” of life. Jesus urges us to take care and be on guard against all kinds of greed. We who have died with Christ in holy baptism have also been raised with him and are encouraged to elevate our thinking, seeking the “things that are above.” To that end we seek the sustenance of the Lord’s supper and the encouragement of God’s wordJesus says, “It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” It is God’s promise from the beginning—to Abraham, to the early church, and to the “little flock” of which we are a part in today’s assembly. Faith, God’s baptismal gift, trusts the promises of God. Have no fear.
Call process update

Frank Simon had a meeting with Bishop Sue Briner and has the following update on our call process.
The synod requested information regarding our needs and asked us to submit a Congregational Sustainability Assessment before they can propose someone as a transitional minister for Hutto Lutheran Church. We have provided that information to the synod. Next the synod will propose a candidate who can lead the worship service a couple of Sundays so everyone can meet him. If we feel the candidate will meet our needs, the synod, the candidate and our council will meet to agree on the covenant for the transitional ministry. A transition team will then be assembled to create a smooth transition to a called pastor.

Details you need to know about our in-person worship opportunity are on our website - www.huttolutheranchurch.org Live-stream option for worship will remain indefinitely.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

502 Bldg update: The 502 bldg flooring has been upgraded with vinyl plank flooring in the dining, living, office and kitchen areas. if you would like to see how it looks, come by sometime to view it. You will probably have to shedule a time as it is locked when not being used by the ARC. Pastor Katie had info in the eLink a few weeks ago about The Arc of the Capital Area. They are using the 502 for their time. They had originally thought about using the Fellowship Hall, but found the 502 a much friendlier place for their purpose. They started using it the first part of July. They hold their programs Monday thru Friday between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
Since they have been using it, the AC has shown its age. The AC is 26 years old and so has issues. It had 5 lbs of freon put in the system as it wasn't working. It was determined it most likely has a slow leak, so this is just a stop gap measure to keep the building usable. We have obtained a couple estimates for replacement. The best one was for $7,941. Council is working on getting this taken care of.
Your prayers of thanks are appreciated for our partnership with the ARC and their service to our community. And your prayers and help for getting the AC repaired so they will be able to continue their mission in comfort.
