Scripture Readings for Sunday, July 25, 2021
Ninth Sunday after Pentecost

Today is the first of five Sundays with gospel readings from John 6, the first four of which focus on Jesus as bread of life. Today Jesus feeds thousands of people with five loaves and two fish. What we have, what we bring to Jesus’ table, seems like it is not nearly enough to meet all the needs we see around us. But it is not the adequacy of our supplies or our skills that finally makes the difference: it is the power of Jesus working in the littlest and least to transform this world into the world God desires, a world where all the hungry are satisfied.
From the desk of Pastor Katie

Grace, peace and every good be with you!

The ministry of Jesus is magnetic! As we read Mark 6 - we hear of how crowds gathered to hear and be with Jesus because he was making a different to their lives. He cared for them, fed them - had compassion for them. The community that gathered because of Jesus was a powerful way that people were fed in body and soul. So, what does that mean for us?

Here's those questions I asked Sunday - What's your answer to these?
  • What is it about the gospel that draws you in?
  • What is it about the story and person of Jesus Christ that makes you gravitate towards being a part of a community of faith?
  • How is practicing faith magnetic for you?

As we gather as a community of faith for worship, fellowship, study and witness - may we be filled with the abundance of God in body, mind and soul.

All my love to each of you.
Peace and grace be with you,
Pastor Katie
