From the desk of Pastor Katie
Grace, peace and every good be with you!
Hope you all are having a great week!
This week I'd like to highlight how Hutto Lutheran has Lived Generously and out of God's abundance in the past 20 weeks. You all approved the creation and funding of a Pastoral Discretionary Fund for 2020 ministry. This fund is used to address various needs as they come across my desk.
When the scope and financial hardship of COVID-19 hit, the invitation was made for gifts to be made specifically to that fund. The generous response has been an evident way that neighbors can take care of neighbors with God's help.
Because of your generosity, Hutto Lutheran has been able to assist 7 households thus far.
This is one of the formal ways we've pivoted to keep ministry happening during these difficult times. There are other formal ways our ministry has pivoted and then, there are informal ways I get the privilege to hear about also.
People reaching out to others via text and phone calls, encouraging notes being sent, birthday parades, prayers and so much more.
God's steadfast love for us is abounding; God's presence with us is certain and sure. This is the foundation of our faith and hope. Together, we will continue to stand firm on that foundation united in love for one another and love for our God.
Peace be with you,
<><
