Scripture Readings for Sunday, June 21, 2020
3 rd Sunday after Pentecost

From the desk of Pastor Katie
Grace, peace and every good be with you!

We're headed into "ordinary time" in our church calendar, though nothing quite seems ordinary about the times we are in.

We'll dwell predominately in the gospel of Matthew in the many weeks ahead and I am looking forward to exploring together what this Word has for us in this particular time.

We remain confident that the promise of Jesus to be with us always is a trustworthy promise. With that, we can head into the world to be in mission to have hearts of compassion and take seriously the authority we have to heal; recognizing that healing might begin with listening, seeking to understand and standing with our most vulnerable neighbors.

We can, and we will, with God's help work for justice and peace in all the world. Together we are the Church and we are the body of Christ -- as we are sent by Jesus, we are sent as Jesus. We are sent to embody the mind, heart and actions of Christ.

All my love,
Pastor Katie

PS - If anybody would like to spend time at the cemetery pulling weeds in some of the lots that are curbed, you are welcome to do so. Certainly a wonderful place to reflect on and give thanks for the saints gone before as you also serve in a much needed way.
