Third Sunday after Pentecost

Scripture Readings for Sunday

Persistence in prayer is encouraged by Jesus and wins the attention of God when Abraham intercedes for Sodom. The life of the baptized—to be rooted and built up in Christ Jesus—is to be nurtured with prayer. God hears and answers prayer and so strengthens God’s own. “When I called, you answered me; you increased my strength within me.”
Grace, peace and every good be with you!

Exciting new ministry partnership to share about!

At their May meeting, the church council agreed to enter into a partnership with The Arc of the Capital Area. I invite you to follow the link to learn more about this wonderful organization.

The Arc will use the fellowship hall and 502 ministry center for their educational programs Monday - Friday, 8:30-2:30pm. It is exciting to open our facilities to an organization that has a long history of serving the community and individuals with differing abilities. The Arc is making a monthly donation to HLC and we are grateful for that. We know that sometimes the availability of the fellowship hall will be effected by other church and HRC events. The Arc is very flexible and willing to work around that.

To make 502 ministry center a usable space for The Arc, we will update part of the flooring by replacing carpet with vinyl plank flooring. I'll update you all on that project as it is complete so that you might be able to take a peek when it is done.

Please keep the work of The Arc and our partnership in your prayers. I look forward to seeing how God will be working in this partnership so that our community is served!

Peace be with you always.
