Scripture Readings for Sunday, June 13, 2021
Third Sunday after Pentecost

The mustard seed becomes a great shrub that shelters the birds, recalling ancient images of the tree of life. We’d expect a cedar or a sequoia, but Jesus finds the power of God better imaged in a tiny, no-account seed. It’s not the way we expect divine activity to look. Yet the tree of life is here, in the cross around which we gather, the tree into which we are grafted through baptism, the true vine that nourishes us with its fruit in the cup we share. It may not appear all that impressive, but while nobody’s looking it grows with a power beyond our understanding.

Grace, peace and every good be with you!

Summer is in full swing! For many, this means new rhythms and routines - I hope and pray that this summer all might find time for renewal, rest, and play!

Please don't forget to keep our 11 summer campers and 3 adults in your prayers. They'll head out Sunday for Camp Chrysalis. It is sure to be a transformative week and I'm excited to get to experience that with our young people.

VBS registration is ongoing - please spread the word and invite friends and neighbors. The link to register is below.

I will be out of the office June 13th to June 23rd. June 13 - 18th I'll be with our campers, please contact me using my cell phone if you have a pastoral care emergency, 210-416-3059. June 19-23rd I'll be out on vacation. Please contact our council president Cathy Bryant if you have any emergent needs and she will get you in touch with an area pastor that we have on standby while I am away.

We were very pleased to share with you all on Sunday in worship about the change coming to our family in December. We so look forward to welcoming Baby Wegner #2 and are thrilled to share in that with our church family. As we said Sunday, we really appreciate your prayers.

I hope to see you Sunday mornings for worship and in between for various ministry team meetings and such. We've increased capacity on Sunday mornings and Coleen, our office administrator, is ready and willing to help anybody get signed up if you'd rather just call in to use the reservation system. Our re-gathering team and council are continuing to assess things and determine our best course of action and how/when we can relax various revised practices. Thank you for your continued patience and participation.

All my love to each of you.
Peace and grace be with you,
<><
