Scripture Readings for Sunday, March 29, 2020

From the desk of Pastor Katie
Grace, peace and every good be with you!

Well, we're finding a new ways to keep up our usual rhythms. It's good to "see" you online in worship, Adult Sunday school and perhaps at my out of office office hours.

As we ponder John 9 this week - what grips you? what jumps out at you? We can indeed find ways to be "sent" into this world with an unwavering testimony about the power of Christ that dwells within us, our homes and our church.

Ideas for this week:
  • Write letters to folks. Need our church directory?? Email Pr. Katie.
  • Sidewalk chalk encouraging things in front of your house so folks passing by can read it.
  • Sign up for a Connect Group. These will be small groups of 6-8 to share, read, talk, pray and bless one another.

Please see the worship volunteer information - if you'd like to lead prayers of intercession or offer the thanksgiving moment - use the sign up links to do so.

Thanks for doing your best to log in and gather together virtually. We need each other in these times. I miss you all, please reach out for any reason. Be well, stay safe.

All my love,
Pastor Katie

P.S. - Out of office office hours this week will move to Wednesday, 3/25, 9:30 - 11:00 AM due to an irregular conflict with Pr. Katie's schedule. See link below.

Adressing COVID-19
As a church community, we are closely monitoring the recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Texas Department of State Health Services and the ELCA.

We will comply with state and county orders that restrict gatherings of 10 or more until May 11.

At this time we are in phase 2 of our health plan:
  • Worship will happen in an online format only.
  • All meetings or gatherings will take place in virtual spaces only.
  • All activities at church facilities will be canceled/postponed/suspended.

As you practice physical distancing, please remember:
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Practice good hand washing procedures. Wash hands with soap for at least as long as it takes to say the Lord's Prayer.
  • Practice cough and sneeze etiquette.
  • Use alcohol based hand-sanitizer when hand washing is not an option.

We will continuously monitor the situation, stay calm and be prepared.
