Christ the King Sunday

Even after Israel had experienced the vagaries of kings, the people still longed for a true king to set things right. He would have the king’s title of Anointed One (Messiah); he would be the “one like a human being” (Son of Man) given dominion in Daniel’s vision. Jesus is given these titles, even though he is nothing like an earthly king. His authority comes from the truth to which he bears witness, and those who recognize the truth voluntarily listen to him. We look forward to the day he is given dominion, knowing his victory will be the nonviolent victory of love.
From the desk of Pastor Katie

Grace, peace and every good be with you!

On behalf of our family - we'd like to say a big THANKS to you all for the many blessings you showered us with for Evelynn's room. We look forward to sharing them with her one day! Thank you also to your generosity in helping us prepare for Evelynn's arrival - we are so grateful for all of the love that surrounds her already.

Just to share again, while I am away on leave, there is pastoral care coverage. If you have a pastoral care need you will contact John Campbell, 512-465-2252. He will then get our on-call pastor in touch with you. This will be for the duration of the 12 weeks of my leave.

For the first 6 weeks of leave (including Christmas Eve), Pr. Peggy Ogden-Howe will be with you for worship. I will return to leading worship for the remaining 6 weeks, however, will not be in the office during the week and you'll continue to use the on-call pastor for pastoral care.

Our family is grateful for all who are helping, filling in and making it possible for me to have this incredibly important and special time in the first 12 weeks of Evelynn's life and adjusting to being a family of four. We continue to ask for your prayers for healthy and safe delivery and adjustment to our new normal. All our love to each of you.

Peace and grace be with you always,
Pastor Katie Wegner
