Our Mission
We are one body in Christ, sent in faith to share God's Love, through Worship, Service, Fellowship and Witness.
From the desk of Vicar Katie
The call to discipleship - it's hard! It calls us out as an individual to be disciple first and let everything else flow out from you. What feels lonely and vulnerable can be transformed by the love of God and power of community. How are you stepping out in your following of Jesus this week?

Mundane, but necessary, administrative updates:
502MC Updates : Things are at a bit of a standstill because of construction/permit issues. HLC leadership is working closely with HRC leadership to work this out. Keep this transition in your prayers.

Call Process Updates : A holding pattern is happening here as we wait for the Conference of Bishops to meet in a few weeks. Again, do not be anxious about this process. The Spirit is at work and does the calling...while we wait, ministry is happening and we go on in our life together as God's people.

Online giving to HLC
We have enabled contributions to Hutto Lutheran via a Mobile Phone app. We have selected Vanco, who is currently providing our Simply Giving service. A document here shows how to use the app. We are currently able to contribute to the General and the Building funds. If you have any questions, please contact Rodney Westphal.

Scripture Readings
The grumbling of the Pharisees and the scribes in today’s gospel is actually our holy hope: This Jesus welcomes sinners and eats with them. That our God wills to seek and to save the lost is not only a holy hope, it is our only hope. As Paul’s first letter to Timothy reminds us, “The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” Thanks be to God.
Exodus 32:7-14
Moses begs the Lord to turn from anger against the Hebrews
While Moses is on Mount Sinai, the people grow restless and make a golden calf to worship. Today’s reading shows Moses as the mediator between an angry God and a sinful people. Moses reminds God that the Israelites are God’s own people and boldly asks mercy for them.
Psalm 51:1-10
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love.
1 Timothy 1:12-17
Christ Jesus came for sinners
The letters to Timothy are called the Pastoral Epistles because they contain advice especially intended for leaders in the church. Here the mercy shown to Paul, who once persecuted the church, is cited as evidence that even the most unworthy may become witnesses to the grace of God.
Luke 15:1-10
Looking for the lost sheep, silver coin: Jesus eating with sinners
Jesus tells two stories that suggest a curious connection between the lost being found and sinners repenting. God takes the initiative to find sinners, each of whom is so precious to God that his or her recovery brings joy in heaven.
