Scripture Readings for Sunday

Consideration of and care for those in need (especially those “at our gate,” visible to us, of whom we are aware) is an essential component of good stewardship. It is in the sharing of wealth that we avoid the snare of wealth. It is the one whom death could not hold—who comes to us risen from the dead—who can free us from the death grip of greed.
Transition process update

A covenant has been created between Pastor Amanda and HLC. Singed by Frank Simon, Council President and Pastor Amanda and sent to synod. Pastor Amanda's time as Transitional Pastor will begin October 1st. Until then, any pastoral needs should be referred to John Campbell as outlined above.
Council will select a call committee to oversee the process of seeking a pastor to call as our next pastor. This committee will consist of council members and congregational members. If you are asked, please prayerfully consider accepting. And pray for our church during this transition time.
Watch here for other developments in the transition process.
Food Pantry Drive: Today, more than 820 million people do not have enough to eat. The total number of undernourished has been increasing for several years in a row. This means that today, one in every nine people in the world suffers from hunger.
Let's help this!
September 2nd was National Food Pantry Day. Hutto Lutheran is celebrating this for the entire month of September. This is the last week to add food to the pile in front of the Lecturn.

Frights at Fritz – The church needs one or two volunteers to lead our efforts for Frights at Fritz. This Halloween event comes back to Hutto bigger and better than ever as Hutto Parks and Recreation Department conjures up a spooky time with Frights at Fritz. This event is free to attend and will take place on Saturday, October 29 at Fritz Park (400 Park Street) from 4 PM to 7:15 PM. The event will have a trunk or treat area, trails of treats, hayrides, a haunted trail, bounce houses, and more. Parks and Recreation is looking for community partners to set up a vendor booth at this event. Spaces are free for vendors that provide a minimum of 500 pieces of individually wrapped candy. If you are interested, please contact Irene Hackbarth or Cathy Bryant.
Adopt-A-School: Hutto Elementary: We will again be sponsoring snacks and drinks to the staff at Hutto Elementary School for their monthly meeting. We need one person for each month to head up a group of 2-3 people to help provide snacks (premade or homemade) and drinks for that month. Suggestions for drink are soda, fruit punch, tea, bottled water etc.
Suggestions for snacks are: chips, cookies - made with love or prepackaged, little candy bars, brownies, crackers, sweet and savory mix etc.
Please keep all students, staff and administration for all Hutto ISD Schools in your prayers!
Adult education has resumed Sunday mornings at 9 AM. Using the book 'With: Reimagining the Way You Relate to God'
Who knew that a preposition had so much influence? With explores the narrative of the Bible to show that we were created to be with God and that restoring this connection is his mission. A life lived in rich communion with God cultivates faith, hope, and love in a way that transforms both us and the broken world we inhabit. Jethani's book will challenge the way you think about God and faith, digging deep into our motivations and heart issues. In With you'll find illustrations of concepts in the book to aid understanding and recommendations for how to practice communion with God. You can't read this book and not see yourself and others differently!
