As our community has lost so many dear members, I invite you to join in a circle on Wednesday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. to simply remember them.

and thank God for them.

Feel free to bring a picture, or not. Bring a box of Kleenex, or not. Bring a prayer Book, or not. All are welcome. Come up the elevator to the second floor of Eaton Hall, where there is a time set apart to mourn.

Sunday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m.
We welcome Bishop Doyle to Trinity
for Baptism and Confirmation.

Baptism is the entry into Christ’s body throughout the world, and is open to all ages—infant through very old! Speak with Rev. Susan or Rev. Edward if you are interested.
Confirmation is how a Baptized person becomes an official adult Episcopalian, and is open to middle schoolers and above. If you want to join us, or just desire to learn more about our denomination or our parish church, here is the opportunity:
Discovery Series in One Day: Saturday, March 14 from 9:00 to 3:30 (Lunch and child-care provided.)
Discovery Series in Two Parts: Sunday, March 8 from 12:00 to 3:30, and Sunday, March 15 from 12:00 to 3:30. (Lunch and child-care provided.)
We will learn about the Bible, about the history of the entire Christian community, and about our history as a denomination. Bring all your questions and all your curiosity!

ALL ARE WELCOME!
Every Thursday, 6:30-7:00 p.m. in Upstairs Eaton Hall
(elevator available)

You are invited to come for yourself as well as bring the names of others
for whom you want prayer and for the incidents and events in our world
for which you are concerned.
Through your holy spirit, burning as a flame, gentle as a dove,
May we who receive these gifts live lives of justice, love and prayer,
In union with your whole church we worship you, O God,
In songs of everlasting praise. – New Zealand Prayer Book

In case you ever wondered about the people in the upper portion of our stained glass window (On the left, 2 nd from the last) known as The Presentation , today’s sermon will tell the story.
This window, made by the McCausland Glass Company in Toronto, Canada, was given in 1928 in memory of Daisy Phillips.
As a footnote, the bottom section entitled “The Children of The Shell” depicts Jesus giving his cousin, John the Baptist a drink from a shell, a symbol of his future. The original oil on canvass by Bartoleme Estoban Murillo, was painted in 1670 and is on display in Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain.

DO YOU HAVE A ROOM TO SHARE?
A congregant at another local church needs a place to stay, possibly through May, before and after a surgical procedure coming up soon. She hopes to find a safe room with a bed, small desk, small closet and access to bathroom and kitchen. Based on information at hand, she can pay rent, is otherwise self-sufficient, and probably will not need post-surgery medical assistance. If you have room or if you know someone who has space for a roommate, please contact Father Ed.

GABE PECHA

Gabe Pecha is a second-year medical student at UTMB who is originally from Folsom, California. He moved to Texas to earn his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Dallas, and remained in the Dallas area to teach high school chemistry for a year before enrolling in medical school. He plans to specialize in Ob/Gyn surgery to help heal infertile patients.
He and his wife, who is a nurse, are the a parents of an 18-month-old son, and they are expecting their second child in March.
He likes UTMB because of its flexible format, empowering students to craft their own study time and schedule, and the abundance of opportunities to shadow research and clinical professionals. He also likes going to school in Galveston, which he calls “one of the most unique places he’s been”…and he’s traveled extensively, including a semester in Rome.
He discovered Willie T’s through a friend who told him it was a good place to study, and he complimented Larissa Botik for the help she gives to the students involved in the program. That came into focus shortly after he became involved in Willie T’s, when his bicycle was stolen outside the church: “Everyone was so thoughtful and generous, and they even replaced the bike right away.”
Gabe’s hobbies are unique: He plays cello to help relax, and he makes cheese and sourdough bread.

PARKING LOT USE

Trinity is privileged to be permitted use of the  fenced parking lot across the street for weekly services and, with approval, for our special events. However, by owner’s terms, cars must leave the lot soon after services, lunches, weddings and funerals or risk being locked in behind the fence. We  certainly encourage use of the parking lot, but caution those planning lunch or other offsite  activities to please park elsewhere after church sponsored events. Thank you for helping us to  be good neighbors with the new owners.
