FOOD SUNDAY – JANUARY 6
Oh, Baby, it’s cold outside!
And you can help!

Tie a string on your finger as a reminder to pick up a few extra pop-top cans, non-perishable foods or hygiene products to put in the Sunday collection baskets for St. Vincent’s House.
They are experiencing a higher volume of requests for food and toiletry needs in this cold, rainy weather. Thanks for being a Trinity angel!

Adult Sunday School
Sundays, 9:30 – 10:15 am in Eaton Hall
     January 13 – March 3
(One Sunday off-Jan. 27)
Traditions of Art in Christianity
Led by artist Randy Noble

This week we will spend one Sunday lesson looking at some of the historical background and traditions of “John’s writings.” There is a Gospel, there are three letters, and there is one great big Revelation attributed to somebody named John or to his closest followers! Next time you hear one of them read on a Sunday morning, you will know better what voice to be listening for and how you can expect it to sound!

Later in January, a mid-week Bible study will look closely at the miraculous  signs in John’s gospel.

TRINITY CHURCH PARISH MEETING

Our Annual Parish Meeting will be held in Eaton Hall between services on Sunday, January 27.

1)  At that time, the congregation will vote on new Vestry Members and Representatives to the Diocesan Council which will convene at The Woodlands on February 21-23.

2) We will also provide copies of 2018 operations within the church.

Chairpersons and officers within parish groups will be contacted for their annual reports that will need to be in the church office by JANUARY 13 f or inclusion in this annual report. Please check your email for specific documentation and reports needed. Contact Trish for inquiries.
The 11th Commandment
Thou shalt turn in changes to your contact information to the Church office.

Please update any and all changes to your contact information in the church office.
Name change, address, phone(s) and email.
We want to celebrate your birthday!
So, if your birthday has not been showing up in the birthday announcements, it is because we do not have the information.
Please share it with us before the date passes.
Another new year reminder, If you have requested prayers for friends or family who are ill, please check our prayer list to see if they have recovered or need to continue to be on the list. Names stay on the list unless we hear otherwise.
In addition, if you have a name on the prayer list for someone in the military, please notify us if they have returned home. We have no other way of knowing.

Thank you for your helping us start the new year better informed.

TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT……
VESTRY AND DIOCESAN COUNCIL DELEGATES NOMINATIONS

The Nominating Committee of our vestry will begin meeting later this fall to put together slates of candidates for vestry and diocesan council delegates/alternates. Please consider whether you are called to serve in one of these roles. Or perhaps you would like to suggest a fellow parishioner who would be great! Vestry terms are three years and new members will be elected at the Annual Parish meeting in January. The vestry meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for about 1 ½ hours.
If you desire to nominate someone, please send their information to Senior Warden, John Speich at speich@sbcglobal.net . Also feel free to talk to Dan Freeman, Jerry Jackson, Carolyn Clyburn and Susan Duif – or any vestry member.

This year a new Bishop Suffragan for the West Region (Austin area) will be elected at Council and there will be a Bishop Candidate Walk-About at Camp Allen on January 5.
The 2019 Diocesan Council is scheduled for Feb. 21-23 at The Woodlands

PARKING LOT USE

Trinity is privileged to be permitted use of the  fenced parking lot across the street for weekly services and, with approval, for our special events. However, by owner’s terms, cars must leave the lot soon after services, lunches, weddings and funerals or risk being locked in behind the fence. We  certainly encourage use of the parking lot, but caution those planning lunch or other offsite  activities to please park elsewhere after church sponsored events. Thank you for helping us to  be good neighbors with the new owners.
