God gave us music that we might pray without words .

We invite you to join the Trinity choir with rehearsals on Thursday evenings, at 6:30 p.m., in the Choir Room.
Please contact Mr. Ron Wyatt for information at 409.765.6317 ext. 212 or email rwyatt@trintygalv.org .

SECURITY MEASURES
By directive of the Vestry, the entrance doors on Ball Street (office entrance) will be locked at all times. Please ring the doorbell on the right of the door for entry
Sunday entry will only be through the Cloister door.

ALERT! SOPHISTICATED SCAMS

Many individuals, churches and non-profit agencies have been recent victims of very clever phone and email scams.

Rev. Susan’s and Rev. Tucker’s names have been attached to fake emails and text messages asking for “favors,” gift cards, and assistance for people in need. The Galveston Police Department has an open case report on our situation.

*** If Rev. Susan, Rev. Edward or Rev. Tucker needs anything from you, we will call and speak directly to you, in our own voice. Please call us if you are at all uncertain about a message.

A TRINITY TREASURE
IT MAY BE SO, A FANTASY OF THE AFTERLIFE
Authored by The Reverend Edmund H. Gibson
discovered by Jerry Jackson and brought to Reverend Susan this week

According to Mr. Gibson, Trinity’s affable 6 th rector (1928-1962), “If you learn to laugh on earth, heavenly experiences won’t be so difficult.” While It May Be So is nothing so solemn as a theological treastise, it does offer thoughtful solutions to problems which have puzzled Christians through the centuries. If, indeed, laughter on earth makes heavenly experiences easier, then Mr. Gibson had, by writing this book, done something to lighten our last and most fateful journey.

Published in 1958 by Greenwich Book Publishers, the small book is divided
into 2 Parts.
   Preface Book I
a)       Persons, after death, retain their individuality through eternity.
b)       There is continuing recognition between those who have known each other on earth.
c)       We take up our lives immediately after death precisely as we left off. Death is only a punctuation mark in life destined to be eternal.
Preface Book II
Offers a stimulus to those who may want to do some thinking, speculating and guessing about a group of great mysteries for which we know little. Please remember he is writing a fantasy, not a theological treastise.

Has anyone seen another of Mr. Gibson’s books entitled A.D. 2018 ?
Keep an eye out for it in local booksales.

Still Feeding and Serving UTMB Students Every Week

William Temple Student Center News aka "Willie T's"
While most schools and students take the summer off, UTMB students attend classes year round. What that means for the cook team here at Trinity, is we keep on cooking every Wednesday night for about 70 plus students all summer. That's why we are grateful for the incredible donations of food, desserts, and even your leftovers for our students. This month we are especially grateful for a bundt cake purchased by Stacey Putnam at the Tuscan Youth Gala and donated to us. What a blessing! If you would like to be a part of this great ministry we are always looking for friends to be on our substitute cook team list. For more details please contact: Larissa Botik 409-599-1457.

PARKING LOT USE

Trinity is privileged to be permitted use of the  fenced parking lot across the street for weekly services and, with approval, for our special events. However, by owner’s terms, cars must leave the lot soon after services, lunches, weddings and funerals or risk being locked in behind the fence. We  certainly encourage use of the parking lot, but caution those planning lunch or other offsite  activities to please park elsewhere after church sponsored events. Thank you for helping us to  be good neighbors with the new owners.
