BAPTISM AND CONFIRMATION
Baptism is the once in a lifetime moment in which a Christian is re-born, and adopted into God’s family. He or she professes their faith in Jesus, and if they are still a baby their Godparents make that profession on their behalf. We Baptize people of all ages in water—a small amount or a large amount!
Confirmation is the moment in which somebody who is a young adult (or older adult) joins our Episcopal denomination—after learning about our particular traditions and beliefs. It takes a Bishop to be Confirmed, and this happens at Trinity, Galveston twice a year.
Bishop Jeff Fisher will be here on Sunday, October 27, for Baptism and Confirmation. If you want to take this step, email or call Rev. Susan. We would love to welcome you!! (409)765-6317
[email protected]
Confirmation classes will be held October 5 and 12—2 all day Saturday sessions. You only come to one session, or you can do half one week and half the next.

BEGINNING THIS SUNDAY!
FALL 2019 ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL
9:30 AM IN EATON HALL
The Scriptural Foundation of The Messiah
Join us for 10 weeks in the Fall of 2019 as we study the biblical passages that form this great work of George Frideric Handel. (1685-1759) The passages were compiled by Handel’s contemporary, Charles Jennens.
Each week we will study the background and context of the scripture, and watch that portion of The Messiah as it was performed and recorded by Collegium 1704 (Conductor Vaclav Lucs) in Prague in 2011.
|
|
On Thursday, December 12, we will ride into Houston together for a live performance of Handel's Messiah at 8:00 p.m. at the Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church!

Jasmine James is in her first year in UTMB’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Though she is from Houston and loves the Bayou City, she appreciates the opportunity to go to school in the more relaxed atmosphere on Galveston Island, and she also was attracted to UTMB by the Nursing School’s 98% passing rate in board exams. Her favorite parts of school involve the clinical work, shadowing experienced nurses and older students and spending time with patients. She said she loves the new Jennie Sealy hospital and its staff.
Jasmine wants to specialize in care for children at least at the start of her career, perhaps work a few years and then return to study for a master’s degree. While her definite career plans are up in the air, she is attracted to the idea of working for a non-profit organization and possibly participating in international mission work. The most important lesson she is learning, she says, is how God works through people to accomplish good things. “By praying for people,” she said, “you can do a lot to help people who are the most vulnerable.”
In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys playing piano and watching Houston sports. She said she is grateful to the parishioners at Trinity Church for helping students through Willie T’s. “I’ve never seen a church do this much for students,” she said.

PARKING LOT USE
Trinity is privileged to be permitted use of the fenced parking lot across the street for weekly services and, with approval, for our special events. However, by owner’s terms, cars must leave the lot soon after services, lunches, weddings and funerals or risk being locked in behind the fence. We certainly encourage use of the parking lot, but caution those planning lunch or other offsite activities to please park elsewhere after church sponsored events. Thank you for helping us to be good neighbors with the new owners.
