Highlights of the Opening

BRYAN MCFARLANE SOLO EXHIBITION OPENED THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15 2024 AT OLYMPIA GALLERY

 A new solo exhibition of paintings by internationally acclaimed Jamaican artist and educator Bryan McFarlane opened at the Olympia Gallery on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 6pm.

The exhibition, titled Fragments of Time III, was opened by Mr. Richard Byles Governor of the Bank of Jamaica. 

Spanning a remarkable over 40-year career as artist, teacher, mentor, art essayist and cultural explorer, McFarlane from his studios in Boston, Beijing and Jamaica has travelled the world with his art. Along the way he has taught and mentored many, including facilitating Jamaican artists for study in USA and France and leading tours and studies of graduate and undergraduate students to China.

Fragments of Time III is open to the public, free of charge, at the Olympia Gallery, 202 Old Hope Road, through April 13, 2024, Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Art students and school groups are welcome.

An Engaging Conversation with Bryan McFarlane, Margaret Reckord Bernal and many members of the arts community: It was a sell-out event that ran over time, as artists, collector and art enthusiasts engaged in a lively conversation on the status of the visual arts in Jamaica today. Covering a wide range of topics-funding, education, corporate, government and media support-the conversation ran overtime. Fragments of Time III, the solo exhibition by Bryan McFarlane continues at the Olympia Gallery Tues-Sat, 10am-4pm until April 13.
