The Olympia Gallery celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the University of the West Indies by mounting an Online Caribbean Art Fair September 1-30 2023 - a month-long online sale of Caribbean art. Part-proceeds from all online sales will benefit the UWI Alumni Association’s ‘Every Dollar Makes a Difference’ 75th Student Scholarship Programme.

The Fair, accessed online only, will run from September 1-30, 2023. Buyers will view works online, make their selections, and conduct the sale with the Olympia Gallery. Purchased works will be shipped by the buyers to any location.

The entire Olympia website will be dedicated to the UWI’s 75th Anniversary celebration (September 1-30, 2023) with works of over 30 Caribbean artists for sale, amongst them, Antonio Figuero and Sandra Dobson (Trinidad), David Pottinger, Christopher Gonzalez, Kimani Beckford (Jamaica), Zorhia Allen (Jamaica), Patrick Waldemar (Jamaica), Jonathon Gladding (St. Lucia) and Rosemary Parkinson (Barbados).

“This is a great opportunity for UWI alumni and art lovers to celebrate the 75th Anniversary milestone, and invest in Caribbean art, while supporting the UWIAA’s student scholarship programme,’ says Rosemary Thwaites of the Olympia Gallery.

The Olympia Gallery and Art Centre is Jamaica’s largest commercial gallery located in Mona close to UWI which built in the mid-70s by Jamaican civil engineer A.D. Scott. An art patron and artist Mr. Scott, also built the iconic and historic UWI Chapel, by moving the stones from an old rum store in Gale in Trelawny to Mona.
