Art & Philanthropy collide: Benefit & assist through the Olympia Online Caribbean Art Fair


The Olympia Gallery celebrates the 75th Anniversary of The UWI by mounting an Online Caribbean Art Fair between September 1-30, 2023. This month-long virtual sale of Caribbean art, allows you to buy wonderful pieces for your home, office, or even as gifts, while supporting both Caribbean artists and UWI students.


Here is a wonderful way to enjoy art and provide support for UWI students. Alumni all over the world

may take part in this ONLINE art fair. Part proceeds of all online sales will be donated to the UWIAA 'Every Dollar Makes

a Difference Programme' towards students' scholarships.

ARTIST PROFILE

"Suelyn Choo, Caribbean Artist:

A Conversation about Art and Identity"


Suelyn Choo is a Trinidadian-born, multi-disciplinary artist who is currently living and working in Jamaica. She describes herself as a Caribbean artist in particular, and uses her artistic practice to explore her own identity, or more precisely, her plethora of identities. She explores various mediums including painting, performance art, video art, photography, and costume. Most recently, her film "Pariah's Pearls", which is a blend of video and performance art, was screened at the Caribbean Tales International Film Festival, and she was awarded the New Local Space (NLS) Group Residency in Kingston, Jamaica. She is one of the artists represented in The Olympia Online Caribbean Art Fair.
